I really must have a major clear-out more often…

I just tackled one of the drawers in a small chest - full of goodness knows what, the stuff and junk of ages. But to my amazement I found a pair of pearl and diamond earrings dh gave me ages ago. For a quite a few years now I’ve been tormenting myself that I’d lost them through my own carelessness - I thought I knew exactly how, too.

But there they were, in a little box, but not the fancier one they’d come in. Goodness knows what sort of brain lapse I must have had to have forgotten where I’d put them - having been so convinced that they were lost!

Dh has never asked why I haven’t been wearing them - TBH he’s not much of a ‘noticer’ and just as well!

I haven’t worn earrings since losing a favourite pearl stud some time ago, piercings have now closed up, so I shall now get them done again.
Talk about phew!!!

Phew indeed. Well done.

Coat pockets and handbags should have a regular sort out as well. Amazing what one finds which were thought lost.

What a lovely surprise to find your earrings. Better than a long out of date packet of cough sweets!

When my FiL died my MiL luckily checked suit and jacket pockets before sending them off in charity bags. She found a few hundred pounds in total.

My Mum had almost £1000 squirrelled away when I cleared her house after she died.
That's £500 each for my children, courtesy of Grandma, when they come to buy there own places.

I read somewhere that when the husband died and the wife was clearing out , he had a load of books, and the wife found,£10 notes in the pages...so if you have any books for charity , have a look through them first..
