Big brother is watching you!

I saw these types of glasses in the opticians this week. I was intrigued by them but don’t want them. They looked like normal glasses like the ones Andy Burnham wears but with a slightly heavier frame. I don’t really see why you’d avoid any particular style if that’s what you prefer.

One of the assistants in the shop wears them, she says she can do all sorts of things, read emails, answer phone calls and goodness what else, but I’d probably fall over my own feet if I tried multitasking in that way!

I find the idea that strangers can covertly record anyone they set their sights on somewhat disquieting. I could imagine there might be those who could use them in a way that over steps the mark.

Don’t get it, it takes a couple of seconds to open a phone or an iPad
If you are walking or doing things how can you concentrate on what’s happening in your eyes
I would be ‘a’ over ‘t’ if I was trying to walk around while things were going on in my vision
Maybe I ve got it wrong I haven’t seen these so maybe misinterpreting their use

These glasses are obviously very useful to those with impaired vision, but there have been cases shown the news a few weeks ago where men wearing these glasses were filming women they stopped in the street ostensibly for innocent reasons such as asking for directions or just chatting. The women at no point knew they were filmed until it appeared online. And in the news it said that some in the service sector have been filmed doing their jobs by customers whilst unaware of it.
My worry is that pedophiles will soon be wearing theses glasses if they aren’t already, filming children whilst out and about.
Am wondering if a ban could issued on these glasses but this ban lifted for those with GP verified visual impairments or other disabilities.
It just seems that for those with nefarious agendas these glasses are like a gift from the Gods.
