This year's is kind of cute although still seems too early for me. But isn't it a re-run of something, I recall the story of a dragon who caused trouble with his flames and was then hired at the bakery when the oven failed, was that a children's story I read to my children, Denis the Dragon?

I haven't been that keen on the the previous few years of JL xmas ads but this one did it for me. (I'm collecting my Edgar at 2pm tomorrow! ) smile

I liked the dragon advert, big improvement on Elton John

I’m missing out here in Spain -no mince pies for me then until we go back mid December! Maybe that’s a good thing ....

I liked Aldi’s Xmas ad last year too with Kevin the Carrot.

I think the baby dragon ad is cute!

Give those kids a clip round the ear 'ol. Tell 'em to man up.

NfkDumpling Fri 15-Nov-19 07:23:28

Just read that JL have had to apologise as the ad is upsetting children and making them cry.

I blame Meghan Markle.

I hope they were vegan mince pies. grin

MissAdventure Thu 14-Nov-19 22:13:22

grin

Mince pies are different they don’t shout and scream and pretend to be so jolly and happy for six weeks

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 21:36:21

I had my first mince pie of the season today. I had it in Primark caff. Was lovely.

BlueBelle Thu 14-Nov-19 21:29:22

Missadventure I m with you all the way load tosh and my brain will just switch off when these adverts are on we ve got weeks and weeks of this too

Callistemon Thu 14-Nov-19 21:28:33

Dragons never existed shock
You must be joking!

quizqueen Thu 14-Nov-19 21:22:03

Is it just me or is the main girl character ( especially with her hair tied back) a clone of Greta-a subliminal image to encourage people to be nice to dragons in case they are made extinct. Oh, my mistake, they never existed in the first place! A nice advert though this year, the best since the snowman one.

MissAdventure Thu 14-Nov-19 21:19:44

Well, that went wrong.
I blame Meghan Markle.

MissAdventure Thu 14-Nov-19 21:18:46

Oh now I do like those.

I've eaten --2 boxes some this week.

Callistemon Thu 14-Nov-19 21:16:36

smile

I like it
I want a mince pie.

NanKate Thu 14-Nov-19 21:13:48

The JL ad is ten times better than the dreadful Boots one. It at least feels Christmassy.

This is just an observation not a criticism the Boots one includes a trans person on the bus if I’m not mistaken.

MissAdventure Thu 14-Nov-19 21:12:23

I dunno.
There's some of us huddled over a 3 watt bulb, trying to cut down on consumerism, and we're bombarded with ads with Christmas lights, tables groaning with food... Tsk, tsk.

Ok. I'll be quiet now.

Callistemon Thu 14-Nov-19 21:08:23

I must have a look

The other Christmas adverts are already driving me crackers - M&S grrrr, the family with four children who go off shopping for new decorations and baubles each year, others which are instantly forgettable

I won't be watching him either, because that's ridiculous.

Full of festive cheer, I am.

Gaunt47 Thu 14-Nov-19 20:23:02

There is a football player who earns £7 m per month.

NfkDumpling Thu 14-Nov-19 19:41:26

How much Ginny? Go on, do tell, how much did it cost??????????????????????

merlotgran Thu 14-Nov-19 19:18:37

I love it. I wish my granddaughters were small again. grin

MissAdventure Thu 14-Nov-19 19:00:41

It's not even December yet!

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 18:58:17

You're missing a tre-eeeat.

Go on, go on go on.

MissAdventure Thu 14-Nov-19 18:42:17

Nope.
Neither do I intend to. smile
