John Lewis Christmas Advert

I haven't been that keen on the the previous few years of JL xmas ads but this one did it for me. (I'm collecting my Edgar at 2pm tomorrow! )

I liked the dragon advert, big improvement on Elton John

I’m missing out here in Spain -no mince pies for me then until we go back mid December! Maybe that’s a good thing ....

I liked Aldi’s Xmas ad last year too with Kevin the Carrot.

I think the baby dragon ad is cute!

Give those kids a clip round the ear 'ol. Tell 'em to man up.

Just read that JL have had to apologise as the ad is upsetting children and making them cry.

I hope they were vegan mince pies.

Mince pies are different they don’t shout and scream and pretend to be so jolly and happy for six weeks

I had my first mince pie of the season today. I had it in Primark caff. Was lovely.

Missadventure I m with you all the way load tosh and my brain will just switch off when these adverts are on we ve got weeks and weeks of this too

You must be joking!

Is it just me or is the main girl character ( especially with her hair tied back) a clone of Greta-a subliminal image to encourage people to be nice to dragons in case they are made extinct. Oh, my mistake, they never existed in the first place! A nice advert though this year, the best since the snowman one.

The JL ad is ten times better than the dreadful Boots one. It at least feels Christmassy.

This is just an observation not a criticism the Boots one includes a trans person on the bus if I’m not mistaken.

I dunno.
There's some of us huddled over a 3 watt bulb, trying to cut down on consumerism, and we're bombarded with ads with Christmas lights, tables groaning with food... Tsk, tsk.

The other Christmas adverts are already driving me crackers - M&S grrrr, the family with four children who go off shopping for new decorations and baubles each year, others which are instantly forgettable
