It’s a bit late now (plus he’s still too young) but, next year I would like to buy my DGS a nativity scene to keep at mine. Tasteful, yet robust and one where he can move/play with the pieces.
Has anyone got one that they would like to recommend please? I’m hoping I might get one in the sales!

I have the Lakeland one , it is an Advent calendar. The figures are in the base and the child takes one out everyday to make up the scene on Christmas Day . Very robust , lasted here for years , loads of sheep and figures to play with /arrange

Mine has been played with by dozens of children since the early 70s and is still intact and beautiful.

I've just Googled 'Olive wood Nativity' and find they vary such a lot in price so do be canny. You don't want to pay £165 for something identical offered for £55.

Don’t worry, I don’t pay more than I have to for anything grin
