I really don't know what I want for Christmas this year. So can you all tell me what you would like to receive and give me some ideas? I don't wear jewellery but all ideas welcome.
Oh and what was your worst present ever? Mine was a small jar of instant coffee from DDs boyfriend at the time.

I opened a gift and inside was a big jewel type thing. Lovely! I said. My daughter looked at it and asked what it was. They was a longish pause. The giver said it's a scarf pin! It would have to be some scarf to hold that in place. I still have it somewhere.

For next Christmas to be better for everyone and for everyone to stay safe.

The worst presents - each year I get scarves from my sisters that have been bought for them, that they don't like, they re-gift them to me. I have never had a nice one so and I give them to the Charity shop.

I’m getting a pair of hotter ankle boots and a craft book from my husband

Thoughts are with Joannapiano and Motherduck.xx
Don’t want any presents. Would just like my arthritis to stop appearing in almost every joint of my body. Worse present? A handbag size pack of tissues from a late brother in law!!

I have a short list of books if anybody asks but as we have spent lockdown 1 clearing things out of the house not sure its a good idea to bring much back in. I much prefer surprises, usually good.

I’m grateful for what I already have and honestly can’t think of anything I want or need.

As to worst present ever, I can’t think of one so I must have been lucky.

Just want family to be safe.Worst gift was a wedding present, huge box arrived from California, very exciting,it said Candelabra on the outside——-Inside was a army green metal
thing, big heavy wood base, same colour, with curly arms coming out with a large candle holder on each arm and resting in the hollow centre bright yellow plastic flowers of no known origin, most unusual.Well everybody fell about laughing and it was eventually used as a tacky gift present at Christmas. That was 51 years ago and it is still burned in my memory, but I did write a very nice thank you letter.

Motherduck I am so sorry about your daughter. We are waiting for the results of our daughter's biopsy. If it is benign, that's the best Christmas gift we could have. I don't want to think of the alternative. I hope you have a good Christmas with your daughter.

As for bad Christmas presents, my cousin excelled herself one year. She gave my daughter a plastic brooch that must have come from a cracker and my mum a manicure set that looked like it came out of the Ark. My husband and brother-in-law got a pair of shapeless grey socks each. My sister and I each got a pair of horrid knickers in lurid colours, size XS. Cousin knows that we are XL girls.

My sister twice gave my husband a thong. Twice! One of them had sparkly silver sequins. If there ever was a man who would loathe a sequined thong, it's my dear husband.

I would love a cuddle with my new GS. He will be 3 months by Christmas. Even better would be for my other GS to meet his new cousin properly. Hopefully all the social isolation we are doing before Christmas will at least mean we can all get together. That will be better than any present.

I am so sorry for ask those who have lost loved ones this year, to Covid or other deadly diseases. I hardly know what to say to people I know well who are facing an isolated Christmas having lost family.

I don’t want anything for Christmas but as I have living with me an AC and little DGC who will have a pile of presents, we have decided we need to be unwrapping presents for DGC’s sake and have put by all Christmas treats, nuts and snacks to be wrapped up and exclaimed over on the day. Watching a child’s joy is present enough for me.

Just to hope we all have a better year next year.

My worst Christmas present, well I'll tell you. My deceased mother-in -law was a great fan of car boot sales. One year I had a jumper from her and the armpits smelt of sweat!

flowers and thoughts go out to those who have sadness in their lives this Christmas time.

Liz46. I can’t go to shops and get shopping delivered. Found best chocolates ever. £3.50. Large. Supermarket own . T/o. Size of normal £10 box. Consider trying.

Hey Froglady! That doesn't sound good. I am wheelie too and wear a warm cape with fur collar and a fleecy blanket round my legs. They do hurt when they get cold.

I`m same size as you too.

boodymum67 Wed 25-Nov-20 15:32:43

hello Shesana, I hope your daughter is ok too. I had an abnormal smear and it was followed by a quick hysterectomy...pre cancer cells and that was 37 years ago.!

Fingers and toes crossed...xxx

boodymum67 Wed 25-Nov-20 15:30:40

So sorry for you hf59...xxx

boodymum67 Wed 25-Nov-20 15:29:48

My hubby is buying me a new tablet......not paracetomol, but electronic thingymajig. I hate new techy stuff, but this is old and waning.

boodymum67 Wed 25-Nov-20 15:28:34

I hope for that too for your huby joannapiano xxx

Froglady Wed 25-Nov-20 15:27:40

hf59

could I have my older brother back please - Covid 19 took him in April.....

Oh if Icould grant this I would.
So sorry

CBBL Wed 25-Nov-20 15:24:25

As others have said already, for Brexit and Covid to be over, plus some help from hubby with Christmas dinner, would be nice. Maybe Chocolate Brazils and perhaps the latest book release by one of many favourite Authors.

Worst present? A broken Wine rack, bought in a sale, with all the "reduced to...." labels still on it. From my step daughter, who still hates me, but no longer speaks to me, now that her father has been dead for ten years!

LauraNorder Wed 25-Nov-20 14:51:32

shesanana, hope your daughter is okay

LauraNorder Wed 25-Nov-20 14:50:33

And Shesana flowers

LauraNorder Wed 25-Nov-20 14:49:00

Goes without saying we all want Covid-19 to get lost for ever.
No more nasty viruses, peace on earth and all of that, Im sure we all agree on those.
On top of all that I would like a weekend in a nice hotel, a pretty ring, pearls, a slinky black velvet dress and the figure to carry it off.
Hoping for a good result for joannapiano and happysexagenarian.

BelindaB Wed 25-Nov-20 14:45:32

I can tell you what I don't want - the bread maker my daughter in law is determined to buy for me, even after I made it clear to my son that I don't want one!

I've now asked him to make and keep the receipt.....

Motherduck Wed 25-Nov-20 14:36:17

Shesasana I hope your daughter is ok xxx

Froglady Wed 25-Nov-20 14:35:08

As well as the Kindle books I put in earlier , I would love to find a ankle/calf length winter coat, size 22/24, that I can wear when out on my wheelchair as I'm really struggling to find one. Thought I had found an M & S duvet coat, which fitted brilliantly, but the double zip was impossible to use so I am left with cold legs! And I tried 3 of these coats, all had the same issue with the zip.
