Will you dress up on Christmas day

As every year my dd and me will be in our new Christmas pjs. Lounging around watching tv and eating Christmas fare.
We dress up on Boxing Day to go to my dB and sil. New red velvet top and black trousers or leggings. Sparkly earrings and glittery raindeer ears headband. ?

I have so loved reading about what you are all going to wear on Christmas day. It is wonderful to know that many of you are going to put on a special outfit, it is great to make ourselves feel special even if it is only for one day.

rowanflower you will look lovely and you must be excited to be seeing your sons as it’s been a while. Black and gold always look chic together.

As a child I always got a new outfit for Christmas (and this would have to do me for some months after) down to new knickers and socks.
I did the same for my girls and now they do the same for their children
It’s lovely when we have all got together on Christmas Day as every one has their glad rags on

I always mean to and usually lay something out to wear but, even though DH does the cooking, it is usually bedtime before I realise that I've forgotten to change and am still in my pinny.

Christmas Day for us is always formal. I will make sure the house is very clean and tidy. The table will be laid with our best glasses and the silver cutlery which used to belong to my parents. DH will wear a smart shirt and trousers and I will wear a midi dress with black tights and some jewellery. We love doing this and our family all follow suit. My DIL prefers to go to her family which does a buffet wearing pyjamas. Each to their own. I should add that the formality doesn’t mean we don’t have loads of fun!

I'm Danish lived in the UK since 1984, always celebrate Xmas on the 24 & 25 always dress up we are celebrating with my stepdaughter & son-in-law can't wait????

I have a Christmas top with pintucking on the front and Santas round the hem, to team with black trousers and Christmas pud earrings.

Esspee I'm going to follow your lead and wear my nice clothes in rotation. It'll probably motivate me to lose my C19 weight.

I will be wearing a new dark red velvet dress (from Damart) whether I visit my sister or stay at home. I decided I needed a bit of a lift after this peculiar year, don't we all?

No, because it’s just the two of us here on Xmas day and I can’t relax, watch tv and chill out in party gear. On Boxing Day we hope to see family but may well be sitting in the garden for some time, so again, it’s a resounding no! Next year....

I usually do as Christmas but this year it's just the two of us and my anxiety level is super high at the moment. Celebration is far from my mind. So no dressing up just a warm jumper, leggings and thick socks. I just hope for a good night's sleep then after breakfast, I'll be doing my usual 'at the moment' muddy walk with my dog and then look forward to call from daughter and hopefully son.

A pretty dress (they’re somewhere in the wardrobe!) and my perfume of choice? Boudoir by Vivienne Westwood.

Seeing my sons for the first time since August - they won't dress up, but I'll be wearing gold trousers and new black and gold top when they arrive Christmas Eve (slow cooked belly pork and apple pie with butterscotch sauce), and a gold pleated shirt with gold top and jacket for Christmas day.

Yes but not much- maybe a sparkly top. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen ( don't we all!!) so as long as I have a bottle of Prosecco out there with me I'll be fine!

I like to feel comfortable and look nice every day so I have no dress up or dress down, my only adjustment is for temperature.

During lockdown, and variations thereof, I have been working my way through my wardrobe giving each item a few wearings then laundering it. The newly laundered clothes are hung or shelved separately and not used again. (Some are put into the charity shop bag)
In this way everything will be fresh, rather than been hanging gathering dust, once this damned pandemic is over.
For Christmas I’ll choose something suitable, (hoping it still fits) just like any normal Christmas. There will just be the two of us.

We will be staying in our pyjamas all day on Christmas day and will be eating our Christmas dinner in the too .

As I am not cooking Christmas Dinner this year I intend wearing my lovely tartan Bomshell dress which I haven't worn yet due to a dearth of suitable social occasions. During the lockdown earlier in the year I used to "dress up" to go Tesco shopping as I was heartily sick of slobbing around in jeans and jumpers/t shirts. Just call me Mrs Bucket.

It will be just the two of us this year and I will certainly put something special on - might even be a dress! For me it's a way of marking out the day as special - just as putting up lights and a Christmas tree was. Have had enough of slobbing around in sweatshirts, t-shirts and jogging bottoms.

Intend to! I bought new trousers from Marks but they need taking up. They are supposed to be short but 5 inches too long! I will take them up!

Oh yes definitely getting dressed up. Have a new blue sparkly top to go with a blue skirt or I may pick a dress but certainly getting dressed up, although I'll probably have my slippers on too
