Yes, some people enjoy humour that’s based on other people getting it wrong, making a fool of themselves, being mocked. slapstick, Mr Bean, Norman Wisdom etc.
I’ve never found it funny. Not in comedy or real life. That’s all.
I was the OP. So the comments were about my post. Was doing something which I thought would amuse people. No wonder I changed ny name to Nadeteturbe on GN.. Nothing wrong with people treating each other kindly. Even when you disagree. I don't bother posting much now. Life's hard enough without being criticised for a funny post. Which the female concerned thought was funny herself.
I posted a lighthearted thread, people seemed to be critical, so for goodness sake was understandable. People who didn't like it could have said nothing. No need to be unkind.
I'm not at all sure that people were "telling you off". I certainly wasn't.
My comment wasn't even about the video you posted. I would have just "walked away" if you hadn't said "fgs" - which seemed to me that you were rubbishing how others felt.
You say you wouldn't deliberately upset people - but neither would I - or most other Gransnetters.
I get what you're saying NotSpaghetti about permission. But I wasn't intending to offend anyone when I posted it. I would never deliberately offend anyone and the young lady herself reposted it. So could people please stop telling me off!
Oh fgs Quote: Ellie says she can see the funny side and even re-posted it herself on Facebook this year along with the message: 'For all those who haven't seen it yet, feel free to check out this solid three minutes of pure embarrassment.'
Tamayra I really dislike that video. I've seen it before and feel deeply sorry for both "Johanna" and the girls either side taking it so seriously and also doing their best.
Why would you put that out there and what does Johanna think now?
How did she feel about it when she was interviewed. Had she been able to deal with being laughed at all her life when she was just a little girl trying her best?
