We record all programmes that have adverts and fast forward them when we watch later. It saves loads of wasted time .

I’m not at all impressed with any of the Christmas ads I’ve seen so far. I think some are ridiculous, others are cringy, others promote over indulgence and most present a romanticised version of reality with their “happy families” gathered around tables laden with far more food than could possibly be consumed, and showing expensive “must have” gifts, and others attempt to guilt trip the viewer in the way they beg for money.
I probably sound like a grinch, and I know they are businesses, with products to sell, but they really are all pretty dire in my view.

DH always maintains that Christmas starts when the Coca Cola Advert is shown!!

The ads just aren’t hitting the mark this year. Most of them feel predictable or overdone, and the big “perfect family Christmas” setups don’t reflect real life for most people. No surprise people get fed up with it all. And yes, the Coca Cola truck still feels like the real start of Christmas!

Hope they get to the root of the matter.

I saw the Kevin the Carrot ad just the other day, and have to say I found it really quite funny. Up until then, I’d only seen the other ads, and as I said in my earlier post, find them to be very poor, either ridiculous, cringy or promoting over indulgence and an unrealistic take on Christmas. In contrast, the Aldi Kevin advert is humorous and clever (in my opinion, I know not everyone will like it). It’s the only one (apart from the Amazon ad, which is a repeat from last year), that I’ve seen that I can say I think is any good.

I think the Aldi advert is quite funny and original. I'm also enjoying the Keira Knightley and Joe Wilkinson Waitrose ad.
