I am sending wine and snacks from a US company, Harry and David, ordered online as recommended by my American DIL. It is rather expensive but avoids the recipients having to pay customs/tariffs.

In the past I have opened a US Amazon account and that worked well. Not sure if that is still possible with the new rules.

I have sent gifts via Nordstrom and wine and cheese too from local delis.
I've sent a "Greenthumb" voucher (gardening) to California.
I've used this company online too:
printfresh.com/

I've also bought lovely wines from here (great customer service)
Carlo Russo's Wine World

Just remembered "Food 52"
food52.com/

"Murrays Cheese"

And
"The English Tea store" where you can buy very expensive "ordinary" UK products that ex-pats like!

Gingerrice I did buy an activity voucher once for a trip to something that was like trampolining with a bungee strap!
I found it by Googling the activity (the name escapes me) on their page of Google maps.

If I was thinking of afternoon tea or cocktails or whatever, that's how I'd find it.

Where are they based?

Thanks everyone for some great ideas-really appreciate them all
They are in New Jersey

There is also a magazine subscription. When I lived abroad and now the other way around, if you know they have a particular interest you can get a years subscription, and actually it is that present that keeps on giving. So rather a treat to receive once a month, so for example I would love to get Gardening world or Yachting Monthly, so perhaps a little treat that you would not get for yourself, and they would be reminded of you each time it arrived.

I just googled "activity vouchers New Jersey" and lots came up.

Probably only some will let you use your UK credit/bank card but if you have no success with your card you can try PayPal as an intermediary as that often works it seems to me.

Obviously do check the offers well - and the reviews!

I bet Virgin do them all over the world too.

Just wanted to let you know that I used harryanddavid.com in the end as they gave the option to record a video message as well ! Wonderful
( you'd have laughed if you'd seen me singing !)
But the activity vouchers idea is also going to be revisited for birthdays next year!

American here just popping in to say that Harry & David boxes are amazing. The fruit is always perfectly ripe! I have never had a bad box from them.

I miss getting those boxes from my husband's old boss. smile
