Mine. Not too bad.
Had worse years.

Simple. Little need for me to prepare. My food is in the freezer, and I have no control over the weather.

Ziplok Mon 15-Dec-25 12:28:29

Doing ok, I think.

Scuppered slightly by unexpected hospital stay, but I was well ahead, so directing and delegating, it’ll be fine 😏

Hope you will be well and mobile enough to enjoy, Christmas, Jax. You have the best excuse to let others do the work.

Just bought my last Christmas present today. Have wrapped most, will finish wrapping this afternoon. All Christmas cards sent out. So only the food to sort out (turkey has been ordered) and a bit of a spring clean in the house. Such a relief, I hate a last minute rush and try to avoid one at all costs!

We are doing well here. All the decorations and the tree up, all cards sent, presents bought except for vouchers, which can be bought a couple of days before Christmas.

We go to our daughter's for lunch, so no ordering food. She is a good cook, so we have turkey with all the trimmings.

Doing ok here.

I’m relieved that my tree is finally up as off today. Only a couple of presents to buy, going to family for the day so no worries food wise though we do contribute. Cards all written and will put in the postbox this afternoon.

Not too bad. Two presents still to buy and no idea what to get.
I’ve just realised I have loads of socialising still to do This week I’ve two coffee mornings, an evening meal out, an afternoon tea, two lots of babysitting, two lots of dog sitting, and a house call to see DSIL. Phew I’ll need a lie down after that lot 🤪

I was expecting to have an op at the end of Nov/beginning Dec so i'm ready!! My op, however is now early January.

Jax can I do anything? I'm just twiddling my thumbs now

Samsara1 Mon 15-Dec-25 14:03:17

I should start by saying we only buy and receive from immediate family which makes things a lot easier. My present buying was all done in November, the pudding and cake made. This is largely because I have decided not too play golf in cold, muddy, wet weather and I have lots more time. Decs were up in the seconf week of December when we started on the treats we had planned for ourselves. This week includes the M & S shopping (done this morning lovely lady from LOROS hospice packed our bags- fundraiser) Belvoir Castle Xmas last week, Halle Christmas concert in Nottingham and Sunday lunch at a lovely country pub. Yes we do indulge ourselves and family at Xmas - both of us think time is running out - cant take it with you my golf friend keeps telling me.

GNetters seem to be doing well!

I heard on the radio last week, a presenter saying people seem to be more ready this year than generally.
Looks like she was right.

Norah Mon 15-Dec-25 14:09:43

All is well here.

lixy Mon 15-Dec-25 14:17:41

Doing ok so far, though my mum has thrown a slight spanner in the works by damaging the skin on her shin. Of course the break has become infected and so an unscheduled doctor’s surgery visit was needed.
Wonderful paramedic sorted it.

Follow up appointment tomorrow and then I am really really hoping the surgery will agree to organising a home visit to change the dressing if need be.
It’s just the seven hour round trip I need to do to take her to the surgery if they can’t that might throw Christmas out a bit!

Cabbie21 Mon 15-Dec-25 14:21:51

I hate this question when it is asked mid-November!
Cards posted, tree decorated, a few presents bought but it will mostly be money/ tokens.
I’m eating at my adult children’s homes on 25 and 26th so I’m not buying much extra food in, just topping up supplies.
I need to fit in a visit to a relative in a care home before Christmas, probably this week.

Esmay Mon 15-Dec-25 14:31:12

I'm miles behind and frustrated.

cornergran Mon 15-Dec-25 15:28:41

On a pre final level all sorted. What’s missing for me is any sense of my usual Christmas excitement. No idea why.

JamesandJon33 Mon 15-Dec-25 15:31:08

All done….just have to get fresh veg and fruit next week.Lists all made as to when to take ham, turkey and beef out of freezer. When to make starters and puddings, get beds ready etc.
Something always puts a spanner in the works though.

Casdon Mon 15-Dec-25 15:40:37

Badly. I’ve got the tree, but it’s not up. I haven’t written the cards, nor got all the presents. I’ve spent all day today clearing up after last week, when the other three adults, and my GD who were all here last week were ill all week. I wasn't ill, but I was running round, chasing my tail. Tomorrow I have to go shopping, and I’ll do the cards when I get back - at least the house looks much better now though.

B9exchange Mon 15-Dec-25 15:50:26

Well it was going well, despite DH's stroke in February and being his carer 24/7, then a rush to hospital for his pneumonia on 6th February has really set me back. He is home now, on oxygen non-stop ( until his stair lift sliced through the line!) Hope to pick up again soon!

B9exchange Mon 15-Dec-25 15:51:15

6th December, not February!

swampy1961 Mon 15-Dec-25 15:58:50

Doing okay but needs must! Been working quite a bit and will be in the run up to the day itself. Presents bought and wrapped. Bulk of the food shopping done just fresh food to sort now. Just two cards left to write but DD has my cards so waiting for them to be returned and can sort them and get them posted.
Just need to check my diary and plan the best time to remove Christmas Meats from the freezer to defrost in good time.

fancythat Mon 15-Dec-25 16:11:25

Jaxjacky Mon 15-Dec-25 17:01:33

LOUISA1523 Mon 15-Dec-25 17:04:16
