I always kept decorations in the loft. This house just has eaves cupboards so they are kept there.

I keep mine in the downstairs cubby but the smaller things I keep upstairs in the bedroom cupboard.

When I first moved in here I kept them in the loft but can no longer manage to get up there.

I've always kept our decorations in a very old trunk type suitcase which goes into the garage most years.

Mind you, I don't have anything in it which could be affected by damp or temperature fluctuation. I suppose your decision would depend on what your decorations are made of. Mine are mostly glass or plastic so no problem.

Whatever you do, if you have anything with batteries in them do remove the batteries before storing them, batteries can degrade easily...

I've always stored ours in the attic. There are temperature extremes up there, but they don't seem to have had a detrimental effect on the decorations.

I did, however, put a battery operated decoration up in the attic last year and forgot to take the batteries out first. From last year to this, the batteries had all 'rotted' and messed up the decoration. Note to self - take all batteries out first.

That’s where I put mine and they’ve been ok for many years.

Firstly I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year ....

I wondered where you all store your Christmas decorations.

I was thinking of putting mine in the loft/attic (to make some room) but I have read it is not a good idea because of the extreme temperature fluctuations.
