If the younger generation have Mummy Porn.....

....am I being unreasonable to suggest we have our own, more mature version?
With the Fifty Shades Trilogy breaking all sales records, spawning appreciation societies and leading to a dramatic increase in sales of handcuffs, 'Mummy Porn' is the new buzzy media expression.
I gave up after reading a quarter of the first book and started to think about the literary talents on Gransnet. We could do better!
So instead of young hero Christian Grey (rich, sado-masochist, likes to control and hurt women) and young heroine Anastasia Steele (muppet who lets him) let's call our mature leading characters, Chris Beige and Ana Zinc.
What erotic vignettes can we come up with for our new characters? How about....

As dusk approached, Mr Beige banged the safety bar on his stairlift in a masterful manner and called out 'Ana! Press the button NOW!' Ana stood on the landing gazing down upon her master as he rose towards her (geddit?) As he came closer and closer, she felt the release of her inner goddess. With one hand resting seductively on the handle of her glittered walking stick, she unrolled the garters from the top of her lisle stockings and prepared herself to be overwhelmed.

Over to you ladies & gents......

Butter we are all behind you and I have also PM'd you!
At this rate you won't be able to post as you'll be too busy replying to PM's!grin

Ariadne Sun 15-Jul-12 20:59:55

Exactly the right thing, butter!

whenim64 Sun 15-Jul-12 22:00:58

I regret not being open about how I felt earlier, because Butternut ended up taking action to stop the rot and quite a few of us have since said how concerned we were. Butternut thank you - we all shoulder responsibility and now I hope we can settle down with a better understanding of the difference between what's personal taste and what's taboo. Children belong on the threads where we discuss our pride and amusement about their achievements and growth. I will welcome nellie back like everyone else - it will be a relief if she checks in and just lets us know if she's ok smile

I'd say this was a "tears before bedtime" situation - started very funny and everyone enjoyed the joke, but then it went on too long, normally sensible people got over-excited and silly and it all went over the edge. Had it stopped just a little earlier there would have been no trouble.

There was no need for anyone to leave because of it, though. The embarrassment would have faded, like the memories of a too-exuberant office party.

Butter I admire you for doing the right thing. Yes - the story-line started to veer off the rails. Yes - some of the contributors to the thread [including me] were not sufficiently mindful of the feelings of dismay the thread was evoking in others. Yes - I apologise whole heartedly for my contribution. Yes - I wish with all my heart that Nellie would return. She hasn't an iota of malice in her. Her sense of the ridiculous has kept me laughing through a recent rough patch. PLEASE come back Nellie. Let us all start afresh. If Lil's closes, where, apart from the shed, will the granddads go?

GoldenGran Mon 16-Jul-12 12:52:38

I second that sentiment soop, come back Nellie, we need you to make us all laugh during this dreary dismal summer. sad

soop Mon 16-Jul-12 13:12:26

Golden...I logged on in the hope that our Nel had wandered back. She hasn't. I feel strangely empty inside. Will pedal on my exercise bike for a wee spell. After which, I shall tackle the ironing. sad

Anagram Mon 16-Jul-12 13:17:45

Don't give up hope, soop. It's early days yet. smile

Annobel Mon 16-Jul-12 13:19:00

I did try pm-ing Nellie again but still got the message that the forum name is unknown.

soop Mon 16-Jul-12 13:29:17

Me too. It seems all wrong without her. I know that sounds utterly corny, but it's how I feel right now. Done a ten minute belt-out on the exercise bike. Got nowhere fast! Piles of ironing waiting to be sorted. I should then start dusting the book collection. Every time I pass the shelves, I give a cursory blow...dust rises, and then it's back in situ. Such a dreary old game, don't you agree? Back later. Love to you lot.

GERALDINE. CAN'T GNHQ HELP? I presume you have an email address for her?

GoldenGran Mon 16-Jul-12 14:10:35

I hope she is lurking and looking at the posts, but it feels a bit empty out there.

soop Mon 16-Jul-12 14:29:03

GERALDINE GNHQ SOS

whenim64 Mon 16-Jul-12 14:46:35

CeliaGransnet has sent her an email jeni so we hope nellie will learn that we want her to come back.

Greatnan Mon 16-Jul-12 14:51:35

That is a relief - I hope she knows how many of us want her back!

Greatnan Mon 16-Jul-12 14:54:10

I want to pay a tribute to all our members. I was on another forum when a member made a mistake, apologised and said how much she regretted it. Most of us said 'Let's just forget it' but there was a little clique of female dogs who mounted a witch hunt. I left in disgust. I was so glad to see so many people on Gransnet are kind and understanding.

whenim64 Mon 16-Jul-12 15:05:32

That's kind of you Greatnan. Thank you smile

JosieGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 16-Jul-12 15:18:56

We'd just like to add that there is no reason any member needs to stay away from Gransnet on our account.

Lots of members have posts deleted for different reasons and it's by no means a cue to leave. Gransnet is a welcoming place, where we can all discuss all sorts of things. We'd hate to think any of our members were staying away because they didn't feel at home!

soop Mon 16-Jul-12 17:12:08

Thank you Josie. Have to go now - things to do - places to go. Start our new domestic job tomorrow. Will log on after lunch. If Nellie returns in the meantime, do me a favour please and lock her in Granddads shed. smile

gramps Mon 16-Jul-12 23:07:05

NELLIE PLEASE RETURN > YOU ARE REALLY LOVED ON HERE.

No blame is attached to you dear Nell.
You might have "made some bullets" but I fired them! I take all responsibility
for the problem!!

We love you Nell - honest!! smile flowers
