Great to hear, nanapug.

Also, congratulations to grayjill whose handed down recipe www.gransnet.com/recipes/dish/5807-Grannies-bakewell-tart was judged to be the best, and she's won a cookery holiday to Italy.

Here's what Silver Spoon said about the recipe:

^We selected grayjill's Grannie's Bakewell Tart because it's a classic British dish that pleases everyone, adults and children alike. It wasn't an easy decision, however, as the recipes submitted were of a wonderful standard.

The tart is easy to make, and its popularity marks a return to an appreciation of good British cooking - which is something we should all be excited about.^

suzi and eclecticgal have both won a copy of the Silver Spoon cookery book as runners up.

Congrats, and check your email inboxes for more info!

I am right in thinking that you have to be on the "panel" before you can enter the competitions? I seem to have read briefly at the start of Gransnet?

JosieGransnet (GNHQ) Wed 04-Jan-12 11:18:52

biker you don't have to be on the panel to enter competitions - they are open to all Gransnet members, so get your entries in!

Occasionally we run competitions you can enter by signing up to the panel, but we always offer an alternative way to enter.

Some more wins for you: eGj and nanasho have each won a hamper of tea from the London Tea Company.

Wendles has also won a Skylanders starter pack.

Congratulations to our winners, and check your email inbox for more info.

Carol Wed 04-Jan-12 11:53:22

Congratulations hamper winners - you won't forget to invite us Gransnetters for afternooon tea, will you? I can bring scones and jam x

It's lovely when a winner comes on to say thanks for her prize. I so wish that more of them would stay with us, but sometimes the name just doesn't appear again. I guess they are all reading and enjoying, so why not make the most of it and start posting. That initial Thank You breaks the ice so why not see it as a way in and enjoy contributing too.

eGJ Thu 05-Jan-12 15:45:01

You'll be most welcome Carol! smile cupcake
