What a beautiful day! <checks forecast> grin

Easter is nearing and we thought we'd do something egg-citing on the site! We've hidden five eggs around the site for you to find and the clues are posted below to help you find them.

Each egg is hidden on a specific (and different) Gransnet content page, and the first letter of the name of that page is the letter you're after. So, if the clue leads you to the Michael Morpurgo webchat page, the letter you need is M.

If you're not familiar with our content pages, have a browse through all the different categories on our nav bar above. Under our Life & Style category we have Books, Gardening, Food and Technology, under Being a Gran we have Good Granny Guide, Child Development, Legal & Money and Relationships, and we've also got lots of Blogs, Webchats and Campaigns <phew>

We've also got pages upon pages listed on our A-Z indexes for Gardening, Webchats and Campaigns. But the eggs aren't that difficult to find, promise grin

Collect all five letters and then you'll end up with a word. All you then have to do is submit the word on the competition form to be in with a chance of winning one of three scrummy Sweet Trees by Rivera <salivates>

Oh, and you're welcome to help each other out with the clues but, if you guess the final word, please don't post it here. That would spoil the fun, eh?

Here are the clues:

1. Eat what you like for five days and fast for two.

2. Not on a browser, but an easy way to access news, social media, games and whatnot on your smartphone

3. Where you can find out how much va-va-voom is left in your relationship.

4. This plant adds a splash of colour to your garden and is often seen along the countryside.

5. Take care of the pennies.

Once you've found all your letters and have worked out what the mystery word is, submit your answer here.

We're closing the competition on Tuesday 26th March just in time for last orders and will announce the winners on this thread and the 'Won Anything?' thread.

Best of luck!

Done and submitted, think I got it right.

I've got all five letters and they make up a word. Do you want that word, or the anagram?

The word please! You can submit it on the competition page here.

shysal Fri 22-Mar-13 15:42:30

You've got me worried now ga, I got a word in the same order as the clues, but the letters do make another word!

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 15:45:47

Oh I don't understand it! I'm too effing thick. Gonna go read the Middlesteins.

Sweets are bad for you.

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 15:48:31

What's a Gransnet content page anyway? confused

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 15:49:32

" So, if the clue leads you to the Michael Morpurgo webchat page, the letter you need is M."

Why isn't it W for webchats?

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 15:50:05

Someone much more intelligent will be along shortly. smile

shysal Fri 22-Mar-13 15:52:09

*j08, you are the one I expected to get it first, because you actually read the other pages. Maybe it is a ploy to encourage us to explore the whole site.

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 15:54:27

Yes. I thought that. (the ploy thing) grin

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 15:55:36

Oh! those things under the banner on the front page!

" So, if the clue leads you to the Michael Morpurgo webchat page, the letter you need is M."

Why isn't it W for webchats?

It's M because if you click on the page, the title is Michael Morpurgo. It's first letter of the name of that page is the letter you're after. Hope that makes sense!

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 16:01:07

You can learn how to sew on here!

Gave it up years ago myself. [shudder]

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 16:02:12

I'm going to go and light a nice log fire. Like Michael Morpurgo.

Galen Fri 22-Mar-13 16:09:25

Can I join you?i don't get it either!

Ana Fri 22-Mar-13 16:14:18

I don't really...and I can't be a**sed anyway! grin

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 16:19:20

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 16:19:51

(that means, I got it) smile

dustyangel Fri 22-Mar-13 16:36:33

No! Ithought that as long as jO8 didn't get it I was all right.grin

j08 Fri 22-Mar-13 16:40:42

grin Sorry!

nonnanna Fri 22-Mar-13 17:59:30

It took me ages to understand it...but I think I've got it confused

dustyangel Fri 22-Mar-13 18:30:43

I keep coming back to this when I'd rather catch up with all the other threads. Idon't even like Easter Eggs! (Grandson does though smile)

dustyangel Fri 22-Mar-13 23:22:17

Can somebody please give me another clue on this? I'd far rather be -wasting- spending my time on GN than looking for Easter Eggs, and I have been out all evening (slightly drunk emoticon) winewinewine and it's my birthday tomorrow!

shysal Sat 23-Mar-13 09:02:38

The easter eggs are in the form of a tree, a photo of which appears on some of the feature articles for which the clues are provided. If you want to see what it looks like, go to the competition page. (Link in OP)
