It's just sooooo Grand to be a Grand parent, to have the wonderful opportunity to see life through a childs eyes

The Grand part of being a Grand parent is that your children know that they can always depend on you when they need to, and know that you will look after their children like your own. It is lovely to hear the grandchildren say
"good morning nanny", it makes your day and gives you a new lease of life!

my take on the grand in grandparent is that we have watched our children grow up tride to teach them what we could in good times and bad then watch them with there children doing what we did and been proud of them in a special way, also been able to spoil our grandchildren in a way we couldent our own plus all the hugs n cudles

Grand to be able to stand by and watch and chuckle as their parents tackle exactly the same problems we had with them, such as eating their vegetables, not wanting to go to bed, etc.

When my son was born, my mum (his closest Grandparent) took on the responsibility of childcare so I could go back to work. She's stood by me almost as a second mum to him throughout the last 12 years. He goes to her house every morning and every teatime - whether she's babysitting or not - and is such a part of his life that, when I suggested we move house, he asked where she would live? (she lives next door at the moment!)

His relationship with his Nan mirrors the relationship I had with mine. Grandparents are that bridge between parenting and friendship. They can parent your child but advise them as friends, they're confidantes and the giver of treats.

My son called my Nan his Greater Nanny (rather than Great Nanny) as she was just the grandest person ever. And aren't ALL our grandparents the best?

It's GRAND to have the kids for the day, and it's GRAND to hand them back again!

Playing dragons and dinosaurs with my four year old grandson. A child's imagination knows no bounds! He is our little ray of sunshine who helps to keep us young at heart. ☺

Recognising ourselves, our children and even our own parents in these most recent family members, and loving every minute of it.

Feeling blessed that I can be a part of my baby, babies life and hopefully leave behind some wonderful memories and some family traditions ...

The GRAND in grandparenting is like the SUN in sunshine, the FUN in funny, the LAUGH in laughter, the WONDER in wonderful and the LOVE in lovely.

They are all fine words on their own, but so much better together.

In China grandparents are just like parents are in the UK - for the first ten years or so. This made me really appreciate the quality time spent with our loved ones, I am used to thinking and wouldn't change, grandparents normally do in the west.

Bridging the gap between parents and friends so they're cool but can help you in life

We get all the best bits, cuddles, baking, stories and then send them home! ��
