Late DH gave me a mini skirt one Christmas just 7 weeks after I had given birth to a rather large baby. Firstly, I had never worn a mini skirt and secondly, I was somewhat overweight to the tune of 2.5 stone and the skirt did nothing to conceal my wobbly bits both fore and aft. He never did understand why I was not overjoyed at his choice

My hubby One Christmas bought me my own toolkit , seemed so unromantic at the time, but boy over the last 40 years has it come in useful. A few bits missing now and the handles have fell off a bit like us now!!!!

I was given a bottle of Domestos bleach in a gift bag once!

I received a Wheel Nut Wrench from my Husband for my Birthday one year, his thought being that if I had a flat on my car whilst out alone I would be able to change the wheel. I explained to him that, that is what break down cover is for.

A brass door knocker! I mean...what?!

A tea towel. We had just moved into our first house, my mother had recently died and she had a hoard of around 40 unused towels + I had my own selection when living on my own. I needed another like a hole in the head especially as we (I) intended to buy a dishwasher.

On my 50th birthday my OH blindfolded me and guided me upstairs to the bathroom. I was intrigued and didn't know what to expect, what could this mysterious present be? Until he took off the blindfold and turned me round to face the bath - on the wall above it was a sparkling, brand new hand rail. Romance was dead...

Well the worst romantic gift I have received was a present that was left in my fridge! I had no idea what it was and slowly began to open it. The present consisted of 9 small carrots and a Bic biro! The look on my face was a picture..... Apparantly it was a 9 carrot COLD pen! A joke to a 9ct gold pen, I must admit it did make me laugh! But still not at all romantic! X

When a child, My Nan ,rest her soul, was getting confused, but refused to admit it, come Christmas, i received a doll, with
lovely ribbons, My cousin Anne, received in the post a football., No comment.

The worst Valentine gift was a car cleaning gift pack, probably left over from Christmas

A build your own house set for a 7 year old complete with bricks and cement & a little trowl. I was so confused when i opened it i didnt know if it was a joke or not.

A big valentines chocolate on holiday which turned out be not even real chocolate!

he once gave me some flowers in bed, great until I realised he had took them from the vase in the lounge !!
