Best thing is wearing pretty light clothes, no umbrellas or coats and floppy floppy sandals.

Worst thing is no coal fire blazing in the fireplace each evening.

Paul2706 Mon 18-Jun-18 12:07:55

The best part of summer has to be strawberries and cream the worst part are all the rainy days we seem to get nowadays

HillyN Mon 18-Jun-18 12:08:06

The best thing about summer is wearing sandals, freeing my toes to wiggle in the sunshine.
The worst thing is when you are expecting warmth and sunshine and instead it is cold and wet. Back on with the socks and trainers! sad

A week in Cornwall every summer is a highlight of the year for me. The worst is the weeds taking over the garden, and the never-ending battle with them.

grandmaz Mon 18-Jun-18 12:12:33

Least favourite is easy - streaming hay fever! The best and loveliest thing IMHO is the beauty of nature in the early mornings - birds singing, the smell of flowers in the garden and the prospect of blue skies and sunshine to look forward to. sunshine

Youngeil Mon 18-Jun-18 12:13:18

My favourite thing is eating outside - from breakfast in the early morning sunshine, a picnic lunch on the banks of a river to dinner in a restaurant in the twilight. The worst thing is hot, sticky, thundery nights not being able to sleep - not that these happen too often.

jujoyce27 Mon 18-Jun-18 12:19:46

My favourite thing about Summer is looking at all the beautiful flowers in my garden. The worst are the flies when you try to eat al fresco.

franjo Mon 18-Jun-18 12:21:29

Being able spend more time outdoors is best but being invaded by marauding seagulls when eating anything like an ice cream or a pasty is the worst!

karinu Mon 18-Jun-18 12:23:27

This is a difficult choice, but eating home grown tomatoes
with olive oil and fresh basil - yumm!

Least favourite - hot, sticky days!

Cathy21 Mon 18-Jun-18 12:38:55

Eating Ice Cream from Nicholls in Parkgate whiles walking along the prom is my favourite whilst getting bitten by Parkgate Mossies is my worst.

The best bit is wearing and seeing other people wearing such colourful clothes! The worst bit is the extra ironing this entails - in the winter we cover up more so no need to iron the clothes not on show!!

Seakay Mon 18-Jun-18 12:46:02

favourite thing is being able to get on with life without having to worry about keeping me or the house warm

least favourite thing is being so attractive to all biting insects!

holey Mon 18-Jun-18 13:06:17

The best thing is the weather. I hate being cold and love the sunshine.

The worst thing is feeling too hot and stuffy at night and struggling to sleep.

Omaoma57 Mon 18-Jun-18 13:09:08

Most favourite thing in the summer is the warmth...the least favourite is my allergy to something! A red nose is a much better look for the winter!

Juliac23 Mon 18-Jun-18 13:11:39

Best thing about summer is not working and perhaps getting a chance to get away on holiday.
Worst thing is not getting a chance to get away and then having horrid weather at home ! Fingers crossed !shamrock

Ruskin Mon 18-Jun-18 13:15:39

Best = eating outside
Worst = hot, humid nights

missdeke Mon 18-Jun-18 13:16:17

Worst thing, thunderbugs, they get in everywhere, inside watch faces, camera lenses, there's one been stuck in my laptop screen for two years. The best thing is being able to wear less clothes!!!

Jannerjj Mon 18-Jun-18 13:30:34

Favourite , being at our caravan and going for walks on the beach
Least favourite , ? hot sticky nights

Persistentdonor Mon 18-Jun-18 13:37:09

So many things to look forward to such as warmth, flowers, and swallows. My favourite aspect of summer is the promise of relaxing on my sunny balcony with a good book. sunshine

The least appealing aspect is continual moaning by my son in Australia regarding how cold their winter is, while in fact they having the same temperature as we are during a typical UK summer. envy

elbowlicker Mon 18-Jun-18 13:44:08

Best bit of summer is spending time with the children outside in the lovely weather. Worst bit is wasps.

tiredoldwoman Mon 18-Jun-18 13:51:03

'Summertime and the living is easy '..... it does actually feel like that ! Lighter shoes, lighter spirit . a sunny breezy day lifts the spirits and the washing line high . White clouds and blue skies all bring back my childhood remembering days at the beach running into the waves . What spoils it now is that I can't run - the water feels too cold and the hips are too heavy !

moxeyns Mon 18-Jun-18 13:55:06

Favourite thing; long, lovely warm days.
Least favourite; the knowledge that autumn/winter inevitably follows!

HHBBNN54 Mon 18-Jun-18 14:01:05

Best thing is being able to wear open sandals
Worst thing stuck in traffic jams on a boiling hot day

SeaWatcher Mon 18-Jun-18 14:02:45

The best thing about summer is the smile on people's faces, the worst being hot and sticky.

pollyolly Mon 18-Jun-18 14:11:05

I love all the end of summer term grandchildrens events.
School sports days, plays, football finals, awards nights, music concerts.
I have 13 grandchildren so lots of these and all brilliant!
Least favourite, rain.
