Fantastic Mr. Fox - he is kind, thoughtful and clever. All he wants to do is provide & look after his family & friends.

We read many Roald Dahl books to our children and I find it amazing that we are now reading them to our Grandchildren too.
I love to read them Matilda, as she loves books, is smart, caring and a great example to children today.

Danny from Danny The Champion Of The World, because of how much he loves his Dad

My favourite charachter is the BFG because it teaches you that no matter how big you are or how you look nothing is as it seems and he is the friendliest giant ever.. #NeverJudgeABookByItsCover

The twits are my favourite, they're hilarious

Grandma of course (in Georges Marvellous Medicine)
Especially after a dose....."Come on Boy, give me some more!"

BFG without doubt, such a lovely character and a lovely book to read with my grandson. He asked me recently ‘do you know who my favourite book writer is Nanna’? and then replied ‘ Roald Dahl’ I was so impressed as he is almost 6 years old and he loves reading

Den632 Fri 21-Sept-18 09:43:34

I love Charlie Bucket - he is so optimistic and positive even though his life is hard and in the end he gets what he deserves. Good thing comes to those who wait.

HannahLI Fri 21-Sept-18 10:01:35

I love Willy Wonka and his eccentric personality. I like that he says what he thinks and he is happy being himself and not trying to conform and he is so creative!

Sarab28 Fri 21-Sept-18 14:43:25

Veruca Salt because it such a brilliant name and has always stuck in my mind since reading the book as a child. Also she gets her comeuppance by going down the rubbish chute which is exactly what the horrible brat deserved!

Squina Fri 21-Sept-18 14:46:17

Fantastic Mr Fox, as he is so family-oriented, always putting his wife and children first.

Lisapaige24 Fri 21-Sept-18 15:47:41

Willy wonky who wouldn’t wanna live in a chocolate factory

Grannyjacq1 Fri 21-Sept-18 17:11:56

The BFG - A role-model for all gransnetters! Everyone needs to aspire to be like the BFG.

Djbourno Fri 21-Sept-18 17:17:13

Roald Dahl himself in Boy and going solo. Very interesting life and childhood.

suewilly Fri 21-Sept-18 22:09:28

Mine is Miss Spider from James and the Giant Peach, because that's what Daisy dressed up as for Roald Dahl day and she looked amazing!

Grannyknot Sat 22-Sept-18 08:26:12

Mr Hoppy in Esio Trot. Sweet and gentle yet crafty enough to win the affection of his upstairs neighbour.

It has always been James (James and the Giant Peach) It is one of the first books I remember reading as a little girl, the detail in his story really brought James and the insects to life in my mind! Both my children have read it and now my little 18month old grandaughter will have the pleasures
