Definitely Matilda: I identified so much with her as a child (though, sadly, didn't possess her powers) and love offering the book to little readers at school so that they can see the same.

Charlie Bucket that little guy lived the dream. I loved the book as a child.

Miss Honey from Matilda. She's so kind and patient.

I like Mr Hoppy from Esio Trot because he is an old romantic.

Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a little boy who shone for being honest and compassionate and who won through. Such a lovely character created within an iconic story.

As a teacher I have to say my favourite is Matilda.....such a sassy little girl, before her time and an inspiration !

Danny's father in Danny The Champion Of The World. Just a great role model.

Fantastic Mr Fox was one of my favourites as a child and George now that I'm an adult! I grew up on these books and can't wait to read them to the youngest little people in our family!

Augustus Gloop was my favourite a man after my own heart. I even drew a picture of him in infants school, my mum probably still has it somewhere.

I love the Twits! I loved Mr Twit kept food in his beard for later!

I really can't pick! I just love Roald Dahl books and love so many of the wierdr, wonderful and interesting characters.

Matilda. My granddaughters love her character and always want to dress as her on RD day at school every year. Through their enthusiasm, I have grown to love her too.

The BFG

The BFG because he is gentle and charming.

Has to be Charlie Bucket, because his honesty won him the Chocolate Factory.

Mr Twit ! What a delightful character. The way he is described you can almost smell that beard.
