Willy Wonka he was so wacky

dahlia08 Wed 12-Sept-18 10:19:21

The BFG was one among the first among many Roald Dald books we started reading. They are all interrupting. Got two grandsons and another baby on the way. These books will be a great addition to the one they already have. Never get fed up. Every night a story.....over and over again.

I love the BFG. He uses such funny words and he is a real hero. The storyline is fantastic truly a wonderful read or watch on film

Ingrid45 Wed 12-Sept-18 16:41:16

BFG - he reminds me of my granpa - called Grantin for some reason no one can remember. He has been dead for nearly 60 years and yet I can still remember him.
No idea what I did yesterday though!

busterjames Wed 12-Sept-18 16:56:59

Willy Wonka as he is my type of guy and my little grandson loves him too.

jenniferaust Wed 12-Sept-18 16:58:45

Love all Roald Dahl books. What a great imagination he had. My favourite though is Charlie of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I think everyone loves this story, whatever their age.

At risk of being declared a numbskull I have to say I am totally new to Roald Dahl except for my first delightful intro to Matilda at the theatre. But, I do now have my first grandchild, he is a sheer delight and I have got to get to know all these amazing characters so that I can pass them on to him. Where shall I start?!

Julebish Wed 12-Sept-18 18:08:48

It has to be Matilda as my daughter has read this book so many times , I read it to her when she was little and she was hooked , she dressed as her on book day at school and we've been to see it twice at the theatre , I think she likes her courage and determination , and funny character .

Jalima1108 Wed 12-Sept-18 18:09:08

The first book my DD read all by herself was The Magic Finger. She was extremely pleased with herself and read it to me several times. smile

sassielassie Wed 12-Sept-18 19:21:04
