Lighting some scented candles, turning off the tv and curling up with a good thriller, a big mug of tea and a bar of chocolate. Heaven.

I tend to stick to the simple things like reading, doing puzzles, watching the garden wildlife and stroking the cats. If I am winding down in the evening or having a lazy weekend I'll have a nice candlelit hot bubble bath with essential oils - sometimes I will read a book or do puzzles in the bath and have been known to play scrabble too! Freshly laundered nightwear and bedding also help. I use lavender oil to help me get off to sleep.

I find a spot of dead heading in the garden very relaxing, especially if interspersed with a good cup of coffee and and a bit of chocolate! In an evening a meal with friends, with good conversation, laughter a nice glass of red does the trick.

seeing as I don't own a bath {only a shower}

I enjoy getting my cycle out, packing up a little picnic and going for a ride alongside the canal, where its quiet and peaceful, stopping off at a couple of benches to take in the view and eat my little snacks.

Reading and walking are my favourite ways to relax and unwind. A good book makes me concentrate, and forget any stress that might be building up, and a good walk blows away the cobwebs and clears my mind.

A good book in a warm bath.

To relax and unwind I usually light my scented candles put on my spa playlist and use mindfulness to clear my head, relaxing into the music as I (usually) fall asleep!!

If I'm feeling flush, can't think of anything more relaxing than a spa day: back and neck massage and lovely facial. Failing that DIY spa: scented bath, candles, relaxing playlist on iPad, facial mask and of course a good book.

A long bracing walk by the sea or swim makes unwinding for me so much easier at the end of the day.

First off, spend a couple of hours with the grand kids, send them off home then it's me time, clear up, run a nice bath, have a long hot soak, then into pj's, whatever time of day, feet up, tv or read a book, bliss.

holdenk Sat 22-Sept-18 12:06:33

Take a large gin and tonic with me and have a relaxing bubble bath

jenpax Sat 22-Sept-18 12:28:50

Just like everyone else I love a good soak in a hot bath preferably with lavender bath oil, to be enjoyed by candle light and with a good detective novel from the golden age of crime fiction!
Other ways to relax are a Turkish steam room and a lovely facial at a spa, going for a late evening swim in the summer especially in the sea or a river, a picnic on The Downs or on the beach and in the winter curling up with a good book by a roaring log fire glass of red wine in hand.
