To relax, I read a few chapters of a good book. If I’m tense and need to unwind, I come online and browse through Gransnet or play a game of Patience. I find both of these actions distract me from my current thoughts and release tension.

After a day hiking in the lake district, which I'm lucky enough to call home. Nothing beats coming home, running a bath, putting on something that will ease those aching muscles, and having a long soak listening to music. Then getting out of the bath to have a meal that has gently been cooking in the slow cooker all day coupled with a glass of wine and a catch up of our favourite tv programmes. Then turning into bed that has had the electric blanket on so it's all warm and cosy. Bliss.

Send the OH on a fools errand for a few hours peace.
Have a long soak, make myself something I like to eat on a tray, with a pot of tea and get a box set Dvds out. Take the phone off the hook.
By the time I'm stuffed and got to the end of the Dvds, I'm chilled and ready to face another barrage of questions including I couldn't get what you sent me for from the returning OH!! Well a girl can dream?

I have two very different ways to relax: either I get my yoga mat out and spend 30 minutes thinking of nothing but my breathing and my poses. It always clears my mind and gives me 'space'. Or I head to my allotment and spend a satisfying hour pottering/ weeding/ listening to the birds etc.
