We had a "den" in an old dog kennel. We stuck any coloured paper we could find all over the inside. Many a happy tea party was held using leaves, pebbles, etc. It was just big enough for three little 'uns.

Riding my bike! I lived across the road from a wood with a pond in it and my best friend and I would ride our bikes round there for hours.

I'd love exploring and finding all the creatures I could. I'd pick up frogs and stick my fingers in the water where the tadpoles were swimming. I'd find spiders and snails too. One of my favourite things was to go into this secluded patch of woodland and climb the most perfect tree, if I sat there very quietly it wouldn't be long until you'd see a vixen with her cubs or a falcon looking for a mouse. To be honest, I still do this now. I adore being with nature and still often get lost on an adventure!

The game of Hide and Seek just stands the test of time
Always asked for by my kids and a total favourite of mine.
Nothing like the feeling - heart racing - will I be found?
Uncovered, discovered, who cares, just the champion to be crowned!

Sliding down the hill on a flattened out cardboard box when I lived in the Yorkshire Dales. We called it Ice Valley but there was no ice. It was just worn smooth from all us kids on our cardboards.

Putting on rollerskates with my best friend. Then we'd tie a decorating sheet between two bean canes, hold one each and hope the wind was strong enough to blow us up the road.

Making dens and forts with my brothers and my mum would often bring out a picnic basket and we would have a snack in our den.

I loved to spend time in the garden with my Dad, sadly he is no longer with us but he installed in me a passion for gardening that is still as strong today as it was all those years ago
