Playing in the woods, building dens, fishing for tiddlers, eating fish paste sandwiches washed down with home made lemonade then walking 3miles home , wonderful memories of a great childhood.

Going to "the berries" in the summer holidays with my siblings. Long days spent outside picking raspberries and strawberries. Much eating of berries, much fun had having berry fights and playing hide-and-seek between the rows of raspberry bushes. The best part was being paid some paltry amount of money at the end of the day for our efforts. We felt rich ?

I used to love searching for minibeasts- there were a lot where we lived. I used to notice where they liked to hide and what they ate etc, and made homes for them in old tea chests .

We kept poultry and I loved collecting the chicken and duck eggs that had been laid. It never failed to excite me.
I usually had a boiled egg with buttered soldiers to dip as my reward! Yummy!

I spent most of my time as a child on my garden swing, I used to swing standing up, sitting down, but always singing at the top of my voice, heaven knows what the neighbours thought ?

My favourite was going with my friends and my dog on our bikes and riding up to our local 3 reservoir when we would all go swimming including my dog Diggee. Great times!!

If I wasn't bouncing about the neighborhood terrorising everyone on my bright orange spacehopper , like some manic cowgirl, then I could be out for hours & hours pavement hopping on my beloved pogo-stick, trying to beat any previous continuous record. Ah - such simple pleasures!

I was always waiting to be allowed outside to play Hopscotch. It was permanently drawn on the path outside our terraced house. Hours and hours of simple fun in the fresh air. I loved it.
