Sleeping beauty

For me it was Goldilocks and the three bears. I loved joining in with the repetition. Goldilocks always seemed rather daring and naughty. I loved the bear family and though I knew that she did not respect their privacy and property secretly I would have loved to have a peep round their house too

Jack and the Beanstalk was my favourite because I always liked the idea that you could climb up and live up high.

Hansel and Gretel. It was so dark compared to other stories it almost scared me.

Chocgirl Mon 30-Sept-19 14:55:25

I loved Snow White and Rose Red. Beautiful.

Shalene777 Mon 30-Sept-19 11:52:28

Snow White - I loved all the woodland creatures and dwarves, and to be woken by a kiss from a prince on a white horse - magical!

I loved Sleeping Beauty, I was in love with the brave Prince Phillip!

Smithinator Sun 29-Sept-19 18:23:39

The magic faraway tree. Enid Blyton’s severely underrated books need to be re-introduced to children both young and old.

Lin663 Sun 29-Sept-19 17:29:08

Rapunzel...because I had long hair and always thought I would love to grow it long enough for a handsome prince to climb!

EthelJ Sun 29-Sept-19 15:26:45

Probably red riding hood. I loved the repetition of 'what big eyes you have grandma' 'what big ears you have grandma' etc followed by the answers :all the better to see you with my drar'etc building up to the big reveal. It always thrilled me. And of course the happy ending when all is well.

yorkshiresteve Sun 29-Sept-19 14:49:48

The Ugly Duckling would have to be my pick too !

blubber Sun 29-Sept-19 14:21:52

Cinderella as always liked the idea of finding my own Prince Charming.........still looking!!

missblueeyes Sun 29-Sept-19 12:05:44

snow white and the 7 dwarfs. just loved the whole concept of it and still it never ages

Stowie Sun 29-Sept-19 12:01:57

Rumpelstiltskin. It always used to scare me, but in a good way!

Anmar Sun 29-Sept-19 10:44:00

Cinderella. I imagined i was the beautiful, hard working, put upon sister who was dressed in rags, (nothing could be farther from the truth). I imagined that I would have a mysterious makeover and emerge at the ball in the most amazing spectacular dress ever. Then, after losing a shoe, I would have a Steve McQueen look-a-like Prince swoop me off my feet after finding my shoe for me. I lived happily ever after. I did grow up in the 50s/60s!
