the three little pigs

Not sure if it's classed as a Fairy Story but I loved the story of Midas and his golden touch. Then I loved Heidi!

Oh there are so many beautiful stories, some filled with love, some filled with terror .
A child’s imagination takes you to places you never dreamed of. To magical lands, far far away. To see beautiful princesses, to watch people at work, to be immersed in awe and wonder do these places and people really exist?
I loved Jack and the beanstalk. A story of poverty, of hope , of confusion , of magical mystery and of course, a happy ending. I also liked Tom Thumb and Thumbelina. The idea to a child that something quite, that small, could exist.

I love Sleeping Beauty for its romanticism and happy ending. I find it super sweet that she fell in love with the prince not knowing she was engaged to him already from birth. The prince fell in love with her too thinking she was a pauper and was gonna leave a princess for her. Its so sweeet. Everyone lives happily ever after

It was not a fairy tale in the conventional sense but when I was quite young and confined to my bed with some childhood illness I read the whole of Gulliver's Travels in a very short time. I don't suppose I understood then all the social comment therein that I would see now with the benefit(?) of adulthood and experience but it was a rattling fantasy that caught my imagination and kept me reading on.

Hansel and Gretel, for no other reasons than I liked the names. They sounded very mysterious!

Cinderella was always my favourite fairy tale. I just loved the idea of a beautiful, but poor, girl, that everybody (especially family) looked down on and treated badly, who then meets a very handsome prince who sweeps her off her feet and rescues her from that horrible life and turned everything in her life into something beautiful. I just always loved that idea and I still do. Plus, she was always very beautiful to look at, and so were her dresses!

The Three Little Pigs - good triumphs over evil

The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Anderson. And he looked and he saw and he said “I am a swan”. Can still hear a Tommy Steele singing in my head.

Cinderella was my favourite. Would have loved to have worn a beautiful gown and gone to the ball!

My two sons loved the Three Billy Goats Gruff though. Always wanted it as their bedtime story, still think I could recite it word for word after nearly forty years.?

My favourite was The Ugly Duckling too, inspired by the wonderful sung version by Danny Kaye; I used to listen to Uncle Mac's Children's Favourites regularly every Saturday morning and it was a firm favourite. It had that little bit of pathos but the necessary happy ending!

Rumplestiltskin as it was kind of scary and funny at the same time.

It has to be three little pigs, because I loved doing the huffing and puffing - still do sometimes lol

I loved Goldilocks and The Three Bears

Mine was snow White and the seven dwarfs because I wasn't wanted so I wanted to run away and find some dwarfs of my own.

Hansel and Gretel - dark and hypnotic

Jack and the beanstalk but loved so many fairy tale stories!!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. I was taken to see it in the movies as a young child and always loved it.

cinderella for me, liked how you could change your life in an instant

Beauty and the Beast was my favourite. The right amount of fear, loyalty and trust. So many messages in one amazing story.

Rapunzel . I could relate to her situation as in not liking where I was was. ( not a good relationship with my mother). Used to dream of being rescued.

It was "Bambi", for me, although a bit sad, too.!!

Bambi: as although I was dreadfully upset about the burning forest , by the end he found his true love and had become a majestic stag, continuing the circle of life.

Rumpelstiltskin as the baddie got his just desserts in the end!
