playing frisbee at every opportunity with my brother, the service station car parks, lay-bys, wherever we stopped basically, and we were good! Best places were the flat sandy beaches of Normandy. Still play a bit now! You never lose it .

Playing "2 ball up the wall". Played it for hours on end when I was young! When we became more accomplished, 3 or 4 of us would stand in line and "take over" when it was our turn. Such a simple game but I can remember the building excitement as your turn loomed!

I lived in a grove and the other children that lived there and I used to play rounders for hours on end. We used two trees, a telegraph pole and a lamp post as ‘stops’. A large plastic beach
ball and our fists with sleeves pulled over them as bats. If the ball went into a garden or you were caught it was the end of your turn. Such simple pleasures kept us occupied for days on end.

When i was a child, i used to play Chinese skipping, just a piece of elastic, but when i wasnt playing with friends, i placed the elastic over to chairs, tried teaching my grandchildren but they found it boring, i used to play it for hours and hours

I used to cycle around my local area for miles and miles, from my village to all the neighbouring ones and back again. Such great fun, freedom & exercise.

I used to love playing with my doll’s house

As a child we used to play a lot of family card games. My favourite and most precious memories are of playing Newmarket. The alluring thing was being able to place bets with half-pennies!!

A lovely colouring book where you painted with water and colours appeared. The sheep were red the cows were blue and I thought it was really magic.

Wow this bring back beautiful memories of me & my younger brother & sister & cousins, outdoors it was always hopscotch & rope skipping & football & indoors it would be mostly Snake & ladder & ludo & we all had a lovely time enjoying ourselves as we didn't have any internet, computer or mobile phone.

Hide & Seek. We had a forest nearby and it was almost an adventure to play this game. It was quite interesting to find the next hiding place. It was very competitive and more than just a game. It was quite skilful where you outwit one another. Our group grew bigger as the game became quite addictive.

I used to love playing French cricket in the garden with my dad.

Just wandering about with friends in nearby countryside. Sledging when it had snowed. Happy times.. safe times!

The whole family used to play Pit, a card game about the financial markets with. bull and a Bear card, you wanted to finish with the bear but not have the bull card in your hand when the game ended, when the market opened you traded cards of corn or oats by shouting what you had, everyone shouting and then you passed the cards and snuck in the bull, what I remember most was that my Grammy used to cheat! Great times.

In the summer months my parents used to take me night swimming in the sea, near where we lived. I loved it! The inky darkness of the water, the twinkling of the fairy lights strung along the prom, the quietness, and getting the beach all to ourselves! A rarity in a tourist town!
The excitement of looking up the tide times in the local paper, and working out that yes today would be a good evening for it!
We always finished up with a hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Play domino or lido with my cousins love the time we spent together. Different from nowadays.

French skipping in the school playground. We used to buy packets of elastic bands and knot them together then jump trying to remember the sequence of the person before. It was fun!
