I loved my bicycle and enjoyed playing with my friends on the building sites across the road from our homes. Luckily health and safety regulations weren't so strict then, so we had lots of fun climbing in the partly built properties and playing hide and seek. Those were the days!

I loved sitting in trees watching people go by, who didn't know that we where there. Sitting in the dried out ditches in summer.

Fondly remember building go karts or soap box carts as they where known out of old bits of wood and old pram wheels,with a piece of rope to stear it with,crashed these many a time but still survived.

We were a board game family, which both my children are now. We loved Monopoly but my Dad was not a good loser! ?

My favourite game when aged 4 was hiding behind our hedge as school children walked by then chasing them with my plastic spade.

I enjoyed a variety of games and activities but a fond memory is playing a knife game during which you took turns to throw a pocket-knife into the ground to the left or right of your opponent's foot, who'd have to move their foot to that position. Loser was the one whose feet were so far apart they lost their balance. I cannot remember what we called it but have heard it called Split or Split the Kipper.

Marbles! Does anyone still play it? A hollow in the grass verge or tarmac was the target and we played for various amounts. A Sixer was high stakes. There was all kinds of strange rules we conjured up as we went along and things got very competitive. I got badly sunburnt once I was so engrossed!

My favourite childhood memory is playing cribbage for hours and hours every weekend with my grandad he would keep me up till all hours we would even play for money and even though I was just a child if I won grandad would pay up every time. I truly miss those weekends.

Favourite game was a board game called Othello. Especially when you got good enough to beat adults.

I loved just being outside. But especially liked roller skating, skipping and playing jacks. Of course hopscotch my sisters and I chalked on the garden path, which the baker who delivered our bread had a go at occasionally

Not MY childhood I know, but my eldest granddaughter loved her 'Puppet Theatre' and giving us all delightful shows.
Imagine our surprise when her 'little girl puppet' happily announced to the audience "Mummy's having a baby!"
Yes - her baby brother was born eight months later!
The puppet shows continued but never has there been one like that one!

Loopin' Louis. Best game ever. Years later, my friends found the game on Ebay and bought it for me for my 30th birthday. Fair to say it was the best birthday party ever ?

My sister and I used to hijack a couple of brooms and go galloping around the garden astride them. They were our horses and we were top show jumpers.

I have no idea what the game was called but we had a pair of tights, the legs inside each other, a tennis ball in the toes then standing against a wall, swinging said ball in a rhythm either side of our arms and legs and head.
we were easily pleased!

Making Airfix models with my dad, and painting them using the tiny pots of Humbrol paints.

Our small group of girls used to have ‘mud slosher’ fights against a group of boys - throwing ruddy reeds from the nearby stream at each other. I had to give my Mum very creative reasons for coming home so muddy - but at least we usually won!
