It's that time of year again...

If you are stuck for gift ideas for family/friends, look no further than our round-up of the best books for Christmas. From psychological thrillers to women's fiction, autobiographies to cookbooks (and everything in between), there really is something for everyone.

And, as ever, we are giving one lucky person the chance to win everything featured on the page...worth over £800. All you have to do is tell us, on this thread, who you'd most like to find under your tree this Christmas (and why).

We will be drawing a winner at random at midday on Monday 16 December. Terms and conditions apply - more details on the page.

My best friend, who emigrated to Australia about 10 years ago. I'm having a tough time and it's not something I feel I can share over WhatsApp, just a hug from Caroline would make my Christmas.

Gordon Ramsey so he can cook my Xmas dinner

I would love to find a great big box of teabags and then I would be sorted to sit and read these lovely books.

I would love to find my tiny new first grandson under the Christmas tree for me this year. He was born premature so we are all thrilled he is thriving so far. Our little family miracle Riley.

In literary terms it would have to be Margaret Attwood. To sit and talk to her about The Handmaid's Tale would be awesome. Otherwise - Freddie Mercury because he was just amazing.

A huge teddy bear that I could cuddle when my husband is away!

I would like all my family that have passed away. I’m not looking forward to spending Christmas alone this year.
Maybe Mark Harmon ( Gibbs in NCIS) I know neither will happen but I can dream.

My Mum and Dad who left us so many years ago, to thank them for all the good things when we were growing up, and to chat about 'todays' happenings, some good and some not so good.

I'd love to find my sister, brother in law and 2 nephews. They moved to Oz in 2006 and I've only seen my sis and bro in law once since then. I miss them so much as do my parents.

IvvieN Tue 19-Nov-19 16:48:07

I’d like to find my son and daughter and their families. I’m having chemotherapy that means I cannot mix with children at the moment, so Christmas will be just me and my much loved husband. Just need to see the kids and cuddle them, so badly

Valeriejane Tue 19-Nov-19 16:54:07

All my family who have passed away since the millennium. It would be lovely just for one day.

Bowlinggran Tue 19-Nov-19 16:57:08

I'd like to find my eldest sister, who sadly died 4 years ago. She used to take me and my other sister to the library when we were small and instilled in us both a love of books. I really miss discussing my latest read with her and hearing her thoughts on a book we've both enjoyed.

My dear Mummy who passed away 7 years ago. I have taken her place as the "Elf" under the tree who gives the gifts out.
She loved Xmas and I have taken on all her Xmas traditions with pride x

I'd love to find my best friend of 50 years who died earlier this year. We met on our first day of senior school, shared the same birthday and had so much fun in our lives and with our families. Miss her.

Without a doubt Ant & Dec, would be the best Christmas ever ??. They make me laugh so much.

gillyknits Tue 19-Nov-19 17:23:32

Mark Harmon (N.C.I.S.) under my tree would make both me and my daughter very happy ladies! ?
Or if he couldn’t make it, then perhaps John Barrowman would make us laugh a lot!
