The white lie that affected me most was when we were younger we had a wine celler on my older brothers farm in Kidderminster. I loved the smell of it down there, the mustiness and dirt and heady alcohol from some of the barrels where my brother made his own brews, it was heaven. One day I decided to skip school to stay down there, I knew no-one would find me, I could prop the hatch open and climb out when school had ended. I bought food and drinks down and a blanket, my heart thumping I climbed down the steep steps, and as I reached the bottom, My younger niece appeared at the top and slammed the hatch down, and locked it!
She then shouted if I didn't give her my favourite doll and my treacle tart at dinner time, she would never let me out!
I promised her everything, but she still ran off and went to school, leaving me down there!
I was too scared to shout, so I stayed there until my Mum came looking, and she felt so sorry for me I didn't even get told off, but my older brother made me give my pudding up to my niece as a punishment!
