The younger ones like books with repetitive phrases like The Gingerbread Man and The Magic Porridge pot. I have been reading an old classic The Wind in the Willows to the older ones. Currently before bed time on zoom. Looking forward to the time when we can visit in person......?
I love reading The Borrowers to my grandchildren, they seem to get so excited by the story. They are always suggesting things The Borrowers might find useful. |Mostly my ear rings or necklaces. I dread the day they suggest my false teeth!
'Elephant's dont sit on cars' by David Henry Wilson, was the last story I read to my grandchildren. It was one of my favourites to read when I was a school teacher. It is just so funny!! Children love the fact that Jeremy James gets into so many scrapes, and sometimes gets 'one over' on the adults!
