You have to take the small steps to get towards your goal, so I recycle my clothes to charity shops; take my pristine (but read) books to my local library to add to their stock; use my bus pass to take the bus almost daily; buy fruit, vegetables, cakes, scones, bread, cheese, yoghurt, cream and meat from my local farm shop (handy bus stop outside!); turn off those damn lights which aren't needed; turn off the tv when not watching it and turn on the radio instead (it has a good battery and I love dramas); dry my washing outside when possible; turn down the heating; batch cook to save on fuel .... I could go on!! Now that I'm retired I am thinking of learning to use a sewing machine, and to take up knitting again, maybe be this time next year I'll be wearing my own skirts and knitted jumpers! They are all very small steps which many of us are taking these days, but I believe they can all add up to something greater and none of them are that hard to do (well perhaps learning to sew).
