In the past 2 years i have gone veggie and now vegan. I only buy clothes from charity shops and give old clothing a revamp if it needs it. I cycle or walk whenever i can and of course recycle!

Recycling and using less plastic

I've cut out as much as possible single use plastics, recycle as much as possible and walking and using public transport instead of taking the car.

I go shopping a few times a week rather than doing a big shop so I can go by foot rather than taking the car. I work from home all but one day so i only use my car once a week to get to work and back - total of 15 miles. I recycle all packaging eg glass, plastic, cardboard, tins and paper. Any items I no longer have a use for, I offer for free on our local Facebook freebie site. I also accept free things on the freebie sites to prevent the items going to landfill. As my 3 daughters and I are more or less the same size, we pass some of our clothing on to each other so we don't need to buy much. Two of my daughters have recently shared their maternity clothing. All our bulbs are LED efficient bulbs. I avoid putting the central heating on and instead dress in warmer clothing for as long as possible. All garden waste is collected by our local authority and used for composting. I have a water butt that is used for watering the garden. Batteries are recycled at the local supermarket. Printer cartridges are sent to a company for recycling in a prepaid envelope. My husband is a mobile mechanic and saves all the brake discs and car batteries he replaces for recycling locally. Waste oil he takes to the local Suzuki garage who use it for heating their premises.

Recycle/upcycle when possible. I don't use polluting air fresheners/chemically scented products and use quite basic products for cleaning generally which can't hurt. I buy less and love batch cooking when you have a glut of ingredients to avoid food waste. As we are currently buying a lot online, I think mentioning very politley to companies who use excessive polystyrene/plastics in packaging is a proactive action.

I reuse and recycle as much as possible. Clothes are restyled into other garments/items i.e. Bags from old jeans, coats etc. I use solid shampoo and conditioner and soap for my body so I'm not buying shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in plastic bottles. I take my own bags to the supermarket, even use my own for loose fruit and veg so I no longer buy plastic bags.
I am making bags for life for gifts for family and friends.
If I feel cold I put a n another layer before reaching for the central heating switch.
I walk and cycle instead of driving although some car journeys are necessary but they are kept to the absolute minimum.
Kitchen waste is composted and we eat all the food we cook, freezing leftovers if I was too liberal with a recipe.
Batch cook to save on energy and time thus allowing more opportunity for gardening (grow my own veggies) walking and cycling.

Recycle, reuse tin foil, don't buy single use plastics, donate and buy clothes, books and kids games from charity shops.

Recycling and Upcycling everything possible. Cutting down on meat and eating more plant based foods. Donating clothes and products to charity rather than throwing them away.

I haven't done anything more than usual because we already reuse, repair & recycle. But I have used my car a lot less because of working from home. Unfortunately my electricity bill is WAY more than usual because of WFH!

Have not used a tumble dryer or microwave for over ten years and don't miss them in the slightest.

Also now walk to work and thinking of selling my car.

I don't do enough, I'm part of the problem and I understand that, yes I do the standard stuff like most people, recycling our rubbish, buy less plastic wrapped stuff (which I argue with the supermarkets about, I'm sure I will get barred soon) I stopped using a microwave years ago which I'm pretty chuffed with myself about, also hubby is an electrician so lights are all LED but not because he is concerned about climate or the environment (that's my job!!) but because its cheaper to run....
started growing my own fruit and veg a few years back (its edible) and try to cut down on washing clothes as much, so can manage to get a few days out of my daywear (not underwear) which can be hard when your out walking a couple of large dogs. yep!I know its not much but I think it would be more if when they pick the fruit and veg from the fields etc, they'd just shove it wooden boxes and we could help ourselves, rather than putting it in plastic!! that would help us all do a lot more.

Started with metal straws no more plastic, buying fruit, no plastic bags if possible reuse my shopping bags think been using them since March, bought re- usable water bottles no more plastic bottles filling up fridge or our bin, in garden planted flowers for the bees wasn’t happy with ones the rabbits munched through though

We use metal straws and cups and no longer buy bottled water .

I recycle or reuse everything that I can and upcycling is really great fun and also it educates kids to keep our planet healthy

I recycle as much as I can, walk rather than take the car and am trying my best (this is a hard one!) to only buy what I need.

We're definitely recycling more and using less clingfilm and tin foil where possible, we're using soap instead of gel in plastic bottles too

Trying to Save energy , Avoiding plastic wherever i can , Getting on my bike! rather than driving !

My footprint as they say has been much reduced as not been able to travel anywhere! Recycle as much as possible & not buying things I suddenly don't need. Where will it stop I hear you say?

Tidying all my kitchen drawers chucking out everything that is out of date and getting rid of everything we don't need and take down to the foodbank. I even made some homemade soup for my family. They said it was really tasty. I also made loads of cakes with the help of my daughter. Busy times. XXX

Batch cooking to save energy and this ensures the freezer is kept full to help it work more efficiently. Searching out tasty vegetarian meals to replace some of our usual meat based ones.

We are recycling as much as we can.
