large water butts at front & back of house, compost bins, less plastic, recycle as much as possible, energy saving light bulbs are just a few of the changes we have made!

We recycle as much as we can and think carefully about what we need to buy.

vickyeaston1234 Sat 03-Oct-20 16:30:47

Recycling as much as possible, only buy what I need, share items with my family and try to stay local, no flying abroad any more!

jibbsy Sat 03-Oct-20 18:39:01

Always sort the rubbish out and where possible recycle.
Think more about whats in the fridge so as not to waste.
Advertise unwanted items on freegle to recycle.

luckybean Sat 03-Oct-20 18:46:38

As I'm now working from home, I'm much more aware of the energy that I use each day. In the morning it's cold where I work, so I have a blanket and shawl - glad nobody can see me, but avoids heating the whole house.

We're in a local facebook group and offer up spare or unwanted items to others, which has varied from tents to fresh vegetables.

I walk wherever I can or use public transport. I recycle and upcycle, don't spend much on new clothes and try to only buy seasonal and regional food.

pineapple99 Sat 03-Oct-20 23:20:39

Recycle as much as we can and I make sure we do not eat meat every day - every little helps.

I've had quite a clear out during lockdown. Clothing & textiles split between charity and recycling. We've split household waste for years now recycling as much as possible. When shopping I have wonderful paper carriers that I got with online food deliveries during lockdown and they are great when I buy loose veg and fruit at the supermarket now.

Recycling as much as poss

Taking a moment to think before throwing anything away. Almost everything is recyclable, you can be creative, no one is judging your efforts. (flowers)

I've really tried to reduce the amount of plastic I use and also recycle as much as possible

Becks43 Sun 04-Oct-20 11:25:06

We are growing our own vegetables, always take our reusable bags with us when we go shopping and have dramatically cut down on our use of plastic bottles

JudeMD Sun 04-Oct-20 11:25:08

Waste not. We don't waste energy, food, petrol. Switch off something now!
Eat little meat and try to eat local products to cut down on pollution caused by transporting.
Buy as little plastic as possible in our shopping. Re-use if possible or recycle.

trisher Sun 04-Oct-20 11:32:26

Recycling as much waste as possible. Trying to cut down on single use plastic (small bottle of hand sanitiser filled from larger one, cloth masks). Using ecological washing and cleaning products. Had Smart meter fitted. No car.

linda101 Sun 04-Oct-20 16:03:40

I am turning all appliances off rather than leaving on stand-by. I have reduced the household use of single use plastics by being aware of how I buy all products and produce.
We recycle all that we can, eat less meat and walk where ever it is possible rather than take the car.

cmht14 Sun 04-Oct-20 17:01:25

I'm walking or cycling instead of taking the car. I'm recycling as much as I can and have really cut down on my plastics use.

Rochellelear Sun 04-Oct-20 21:36:42

I recycle. upcycle, donate and re-use as much as possible. We really have very little which goes in general waste bins. Facebook marketplace is great for giving away anything for free ! Charities such as "smalls for all" send old bras to Africa to help prevent rape. Women in Africa as less likely to suffer rape if wearing a bra, as this is seen as a sign of wealth.

mamagill Sun 04-Oct-20 21:44:49

We recycle as much as possible, including food waste, plan meals so that waste is minimised, a couple of minutes less in the shower, and picking up plastic waste while out and putting in our own bins

Purplecatlover1 Sun 04-Oct-20 23:09:01

I recycle everything I can, I use reusable bottles and coffee mugs, I limit my electricity and gas use. I’ve recently switched to washable make up remover pads and cloths instead of wipes.

gillwill Mon 05-Oct-20 07:28:44

I have switched to a vegan diet. It not only cuts down greenhouse gasses but also save's animals lives and is better for my health.

burlecharlotte Mon 05-Oct-20 08:05:36

I rarely buy new and try to buy pre loved whenever possible. This works especially well with clothes.

angiejackson Mon 05-Oct-20 09:36:11

Recycling, use an electric car but walk where I can, meat free mondays
