I love Donna Leon's Commissario, Guido Brunetti books. They give a flavour of Venice-such a lovely city and a mystery to solve. I like crime novels with a bit of psychological insight and more than just a simple crime, a flawed detective, and some characters with problems helps a lot.

I don't read such thrillers, so I don't have a favourite.

I always used to read a lot of books when I was small. Since I have retired I have start to read again like a lot of thrillers find them exciting to finish them then I pass them on to a charity. At the moment I am reading The Stranger's Wife written by Anna Lou Weatherley. It is a very good read cannot put it down.

My favourite thriller book is The Girl On The Train. I love how gripping thrillers are.

I love Phil Rickman's Merrily Watkins books. The books are crime based, but she's a deliverance minister (exorcist) so they have a supernatural twist to them.

I love the escapism of thrillers, and the comfort they bring - in an odd way. However things are in my life, at least I'm not one of the poor souls in the book I'm reading!

I'm a Stephen King fan, but I also really enjoyed Gone Girl. I know it has its detractors, but (I won't give spoilers!) I liked it in large part for the very things it's criticized for. I liked a female character being in that role for a change.

I devour the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child.Can’t put them down and enjoy when the baddies get their comeuppance.

Yesterday by Felicia Yap was one thriller that woulde stay with me. What I love most about thrillers is the twist in the end!

Love all crime and thriller books for a bit of intrigue and excitement. So many are my favourites, but just recently I enjoyed "Faceless" by Martine Cole, gritty, a rollercoaster of a story and gripping. Couldn't put it down so many late nights.

I am a huge fan of Agatha Christie ! My Mother was too . The Mrs Marples ones I like the best .. At Bertram’s Hotel is a favourite..

I'm an avid reader of Amanda Marsons. I particularly like Silent Scream. I love guessing who done it!

I love Ian Rankin’s Rebus novels, set in my home town Edinburgh. I have no individual favourite and am eagerly awaiting the imminent release of his latest one in paperback.

Something in the Water by Catherine Steadman. I was put off by the hype but it's actually a great novel.

Thrillers take you (safely)into danger-zones. A good thriller is often a page-turner and really keeps you engaged.

I Love, The perfect girlfriend by Karen Hamilton. It is about a starker, commentated by the starker.

I like reading it because, It gives a different insight into stalking, its very psychological. The main character evokes all sorts of emotions in me, including disgust, pity and empathy she is the criminal yet very much the victim too.

I'm going to go off at a slight tangent on this one, the best thrillers I have read (in my personal opinion) are actually from writers who are better known in other genres.

Just about any of the Black Widowers stories by Isaac Asimov.

Jericho Falls, Crestwood Heights and Egypt Green by Christopher Hyde.

As well as a lot of novels that crossed over into other genres along with their crime, mystery or thriller elements (Stephen King, James Herbert, Michael Moorcock and Dean R Koontz among many others)

I guess I like the crime and thriller books simply because I love being challenged, and in most cases you can 'work on the case' as you read, racing against the protagonist as it were.

Re: Thrillers...They can be immensely gripping and engross us and so we need to read further , twists and turns , chills and thrills , then just went you think you have sussed whats going on , Bang!! another shock .... pure excitement and our imaginations into hyper over drive much more than cinema.

My favourite is the snowman by Jo Nesbo, such a page turner and kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through, thoroughly recommend it! Love thrillers, I love guessing who dunnit and always get it wrong!!! ?

I love the Ruth Galloway series. Action and good characters

Anything by Patricia Gibney. I’ve just read her latest - Silent Voices.
