Simply that.

Are you watching to hear from the most reliable source.

Greymar Thu 19-Mar-20 17:43:14

Yes, I am.

POGS Thu 19-Mar-20 17:46:39

Patrick Vallance explained that comment a little clearer Elizabeth 1.

I wouldn't want anybody to think it was statement that is what ' will' happen.

Lord knows every cough, fart, word and saying is being weaponised against Boris Johnson in some corners.

I really like these daily PM chats. The best bit is listening to the Radio Four chaps trying desperately to pre-guess what he’s going to say. I’d really had enough of listening in the morning to what So-and-So was going to say in a speech that afternoon. I just longed for So-and-So to say something completely different!

GracesGranMK3 Thu 19-Mar-20 17:59:33

I did POGs. It was fascinating.

POGS Thu 19-Mar-20 18:01:06

A lot of ' so and so' s ' think they know what is going to be said.

Can' t beat the ' horses mouth'.

There are so many scientists working away in the background. It does show you what we have in this country and around the world. The anti-body test would be a game-changer.

Poor Italy seems to be at the worst stage though.

Labaik Thu 19-Mar-20 18:12:17

He is not answering the questions. He says the government will stand behind businesses and businesses must stand behind their employees. That means nothing. And, when asked about some shops profiteering from it all he just spoke about supply chains and panic buying. Didn't seem to even know that profiteering was going on.Chris Witty was, as ever, the consummate professional. I also wonder if his medical advisors despair at his 'we'll turn it round in 12 weeks' comment.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 19-Mar-20 18:26:51

There have been 4 of these. Johnson was definitely off message today. More discipline needed!!

Greymar Thu 19-Mar-20 18:28:06

Does he prepare do you think?

Labaik Thu 19-Mar-20 18:31:25

Do you think that's why he wants to change the format of the Q&A; so that he can get help with the answers first?

Sparkling Thu 19-Mar-20 18:33:11

I think Boris has been excellent. He is listening to scientists, all working full out to give us good advice and get us through this, who else would you listen to? This is unprecedented, so no one has the answer but lots of very clever people are working tirelessly to find one.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 19-Mar-20 18:47:40

At long last

Bet they hope that will get lost in the Covoid19 stuff.
I can't listen to BJ it's bad enough socially distancing myself without having to listen to him everyday!

ElaineI Fri 20-Mar-20 00:00:10

No watched Disney Cars with DGS2 - favourite film just now. Boris a turn off for him and me!

paddyanne Fri 20-Mar-20 00:47:11

I have confidence in the FM Nicola Sturgeon she has the experience of dealing with SARS in 2003(?) behind her so she knows what needs to be done and she is doing it with some measure of compassion for the people of Scotland NOT just big business.Where English businesses will be offerd loans at 19'8 % Scottish ones will get grants to allow staff to be paid and a package of other measures including rate relief will be in place within weeks .There is also talk of a universal income as Ian Blackford attepted Boris and co to consider yesterday .Apparent Bojo would rather let his loan shark friends make shed loads of cash from the misfortune of small business....no surprise there .

Labaik Fri 20-Mar-20 00:54:13

#leaderenvy envy

Labaik Fri 20-Mar-20 00:54:49

...can we borrow her? we'll give her back, honest.....

trisher Fri 20-Mar-20 14:19:19

Could we swap Boris for her? I suppose no one would fall for that. What about a 2 for 1 offer? BJ and Priti for Nicola?- that's worse isn't it!!!

Greymar Fri 20-Mar-20 17:23:23

For God's sake sort out your posture, your hair , your shirt, your gestures.

Rishi, however , nailes it.

grandMattie Fri 20-Mar-20 17:27:16

Yes, daily and think he’s doing a sterling job under hideous circumstances.

varian Fri 20-Mar-20 17:29:07

BJ is as cringeably embarrassing as ever, which would not matter except he is supposed to be the leader of this country at a time when we desperately need a competent leader.

Every response from this government to the virus has been too little too late. We are headed before long to the place where Italy is now.

Greymar Fri 20-Mar-20 17:47:30

I think Boris has been excellent

I so want to believe this. He is however, terrible. He has unlimited rescources, an ironed shirt and a straight back would help for starters. He is hopelessly out of his depth, its embarassing.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 20-Mar-20 17:55:58

If he ran into a burning orphanage and rescued all the children and their kittens people would still find fault.

He is doing the correct thing with shutting pubs, restaurants and gyms.

He is putting in support for small businesses so that they can retain their staff, he is helping the self employed.

Couldn't give a flying monkeys what he looks like as long as these measures work!!

varian Fri 20-Mar-20 17:59:45

He should have done these things last week, when all the other European countries were closing schools, universities, pubs, restaurants etc.

BJ ,and because of him the UK, is slow on the uptake.

Calendargirl Fri 20-Mar-20 18:02:12

Greymar

Boris has a hunched posture, rather unkind to say a straight back would be a start

Hardly the time to nit pick about shirts and posture.
