Another good idea Greeneyedgirl although you would think the firms who run the car parks would do this if they were not such greedy buggers being kind people.

Perhaps we could at least give staff free car parking whilst they are working. I'd be willing to pay towards it if government isn't.

Yes Cuba has a history of helping out with medics. I think their training is of a high standard.

Here is the plan to show appreciation of the NHS

I used to work in the NHS, am too old to volunteer now, but I can't applaud my ex colleagues enough for their daily self sacrifice.

I just hope that many do not succumb. A nurse in Walsall aged 36 is fighting for her life.

On a practical note, just keeping the NHS as freed up as possible is the best way to thank them.

A special round of applause for the thousands of nurses (4,000) and 500 doctors all recently retired who came back to the NHS to help out.
On a recent thread one or two gloomy posters were shaking their heads and saying very few would do this.I disagreed.

A retired doctor has died in France because he went back to work to help. These people are absolute heroes.

They are doing a magnificent job in very difficult circumstances and risking their own lives and families.

I feel it would make us feel good to show our appreciation in an obvious manner but, like Oopsadaisy, I feel that they would prefer us to keep ourselves to ourselves. That would help to make them safer.

The Clap For Our Carers, or #clapforourcarers, campaign will see people across the country applaud the NHS workers from their homes.

This is to show appreciation for doctors, nurses, GPs and every other NHS worker.

This will take place on March 26 at 8pm.

People joining in should applaud from their front doors, gardens, balconys and windows, keeping a safe distance from other people

That's a good idea GagaJo would be much appreciated. I think people should help NHS staff by not using the time set aside for them to shop. Many staff had to turn round and go home as the queues were so long.

Some people are putting up fairy lights or candles in their windows to show their appreciation.

One of the restaurants near the big hospital in my city is arranging for a nightly pizza delivery. It would be great if there was a fund to donate to, to arrange for food delivery to them. Easy stuff that they can eat and run.

Isn't there a plan for everyone to stand outside their house on the 26th at 8 pm and clap and cheer in honour of front line workers? I think that's the date/time anyway.
