Visiting my 93 year old mum

I took my mam a few bits and bobs the other day. I put them on the doorstep and stood well back. We had a conversation that way. It works well whilst the weather is nice.

This is very hard for you & your mum.

Howabout you take your daily walk to her front door, ring her from your mobile & have a chat with her face to face through a closed window. Far from perfect & maybe not possible.

But it would be very foolish for you to & fro between your home & here.

The absolute option would be for you to move in, quarantine yourself before you go & again when you are there for x days & stay with her for the duration.

Between a rock and a hard place. You are allowed to go to help a vulnerable person but you would not want to risk carrying the virus to them.
Could you get a local mini-market to deliver to her and just speak to her on the telephone?

Can you speak through the window or in the garden 6 feet apart?

My mum is in care but there is no visiting. She is 99 and will be 100 in September. I wonder if she will be around then and if we will be able to celebrate.
