Quarantine Diversion

We hadn’t done, you know, for ages
We couldn’t remember quite when
It began with a touch
But we liked it so much
We did it all over again.

We hadn’t made, you know, for ages
It hadn’t come into our mind,
Then, flooded by lust
I felt that I must
And she said; ‘I really don’t mind.’

It hadn’t been on our agenda,
Crowded with such mundane things,
Like a favourite tie,
Not seen since July
Or a doorbell that no longer rings.

When left to our own devices,
We find things to do, do you see?
So, when left by yourself,
Take a pen from the shelf,
And write your own fantasy!

Hmmm, given me ideas there ?
Did you write this Cunco ? Perhaps I will have a go at writing one later.

lemongrove I am afraid it is mine. It came to me in the middle of the night and I wrote it down this morning. Pleased it's stimulated your imagination. ?

It’s very good btw, I once thought of a quite good poem in the middle of the night, then fell, asleep and in the morning could only remember the first line!

So much time now with his nibs
Who seems so happy in this crisis,
To get him to move needs a poke in the ribs
But he’s fast when there’s food or vanilla ices.

Sitting together and watching tv
Me watching dramas, him liking ads
A lot of the time he is just watching me
It sometimes gives me the screaming ad dabs!

He approves of me not being able to leave,
It’s what he has always hoped for come true
My comings and goings were his main ‘peeve’
Confined to our quarters is better, he knew.

( sorry....have to go, he is meowing to go into the garden now)

A verse of few lines
Ogden Nash could do with two
But not in haiku.

I like Ogden Nash, especially the ‘kindly unhitch your wagon buddy’ one ( when you hitch your wagon to a star.)

A poem I have misconstrued
Is very short and somewhat rude
I’d thought that Ogden Nash had wrote it
But now I’ll shut up and never quote it!

PS: lemongrove I can't be sure but I get an inkling that this thread isn't catching on. ?
