My DH is on the shielded list. Just wondering how many others there are on GN and how you are coping with staying in all the time.

Doodle are you trying to get in my good books?

I do scrub up well, don't I? wink

Ooh Miss you haven’t changed a bit.......?

Doodle Sun 19-Apr-20 21:11:00

Miss Marydoll you might like to know that your maths lessons are so popular that even though school finished ages ago the children are still playing in class ?

CherryCezzy Sun 19-Apr-20 21:15:54

Autocorrect changed R to a T Doodle but I think you knew that ??.
Marydoll sounds like today turned out to be a pleasant day for you. I'm pleased ? for you ?

BradfordLass73 Sun 19-Apr-20 22:12:13

Gosh, Marydoll even in my most glamorous moments I never looked like that grin.

I began my day with some vigorous chair dancing to Silly Wizard my favourite band at one time and now offered here as a tribute to the long-gone members.

Bet you can't keep still when you listen.
Gave me a good aerobic workout anyway smile

And as none of us can travel, I invite you to Aoteaoa-New Zealand via this video.
As you will see, we haven't lost touch with what's really important and I for one am looking forward to it all being like this again.

Doodle I know all about lemongrove and her penchants but I'm not throwing any handsome young men in uniform her way, they are all staying right here with me.

Callistemon Sun 19-Apr-20 23:14:14

Thankyou for the virtual visit, BradfordLass, I am going to sit back and watch before bedtime.

Doodle Sun 19-Apr-20 23:15:16

bradfordlass at that tempo you would have had a good workout.?. Lovely video. Very beautiful.

Mamissimo Sun 19-Apr-20 23:20:56

Ooo a lock in with gin......wake me gently in the morning sleep ?

BradfordLass73 Mon 20-Apr-20 02:48:26

It's just occurred to me - when people are washing their delivered groceries, are they also washing their money?

Money is known to be very dirty and germ carrying even in normal times.

BradfordLass73 Mon 20-Apr-20 02:49:03

Brings a whole new meaning to 'money laundering' doesn't it? smile

Rufus2 Mon 20-Apr-20 03:10:43

And I'm sick of handling "filthy lucre"! hmm

Marydoll Mon 20-Apr-20 07:45:59

Just before lockdown, my daughter's works canteen stopped taking money and made payment a card transaction only. Shops here are also encouraging customers to use cards.
My neighbours and I are working a barter system.
Recently I gave my neighbour a bottle of wine in return for a loaf and two pints of milk! grin I think she got the better deal!

What money?
I haven’t handled money for at least 5 weeks. Online shopping is of course paid online by card , anything else is by bank transfer (like the shopping I get for my neighbour along with my own.
I honestly have no idea what is in my purse at the moment - but hope it’s all still there. If I were to go into a shop I would use contactless as we are asked to.

We did pay the gardener with real money, put it in an envelope, retreated, then he picked it up.
I presume he then laundered it!
This new money washes quite well.

We're keeping a list of what we owe the neighbour.

dragonfly46 Mon 20-Apr-20 10:17:19

I, too, have not handled money.
I pay for everything I can with Paypal - even the shopping. I somehow feel safer.

Taking Dexter to the vet later so hoping for better news although he is still trying to scratch his eye. I realised at the weekend that if my SiL (dog's owner) were to walk through the door I would burst into tears. The strain is getting too much at the moment.

Eglantine21 Mon 20-Apr-20 10:20:44

I accidentally washed a £10 note a few weeks ago and it came up lovely!

Thanks for the YouTube clips Bradfordlass. Such a beautiful country. I must admit though, I hadn’t really done my research before I went and hadn’t realised I was going to be sitting on a volcano!

Another garden day I think. I can’t bear to waste this sunshine????‍?

Callistemon Mon 20-Apr-20 10:22:22

I thought I recognised that lighthouse, but it was a short glimpse and there are probably several like that, BradfordLass

Grammaretto Mon 20-Apr-20 11:08:39

Dragonfly I don't suppose virtual hugs and flowers really cut it for you but they are heading your way.

Thank you for the video Bradfordlass I well up when watching NZ/Aotearoa. I spent my early childhood in that beautiful country and now my DS lives there.

Doodle Mon 20-Apr-20 11:32:28

Morning all.
We haven’t touched money for ages. Online ordering only and being in lockdown there isn’t any need really.

dragonfly I feel so sorry for you. To be responsible for your own pet is one thing but having to look after someone else’s dog who is ill must be worrying. Do hope news from the vet is better.
eglantine Marydoll finds a stash of chocolate in her linen cupboard, you find money in your washing machine....I wonder what sort of goodies I can find ?
DH managed to get a Waitrose slot at 3am today. So excited he couldn’t sleep ?
Back later. Have a good day.

CherryCezzy Mon 20-Apr-20 12:10:01

dragonfly, I hope the vet is a bearer of good news. I'd hug you for real if I could ((hugs)).
I have handled money once during this lockdown, when my sadly departed friend's SiL did shopping for us. Fortunately the notes were brand new from "the hole in the wall". The change, not much of it, was put in an envelope and my WP decanted it into a glass and put it to one side. I've no idea what cash is left in the house hmm, perhaps I'll check but none of it is much use at the moment anyway.

dragonfly46 Mon 20-Apr-20 13:07:45

Thank you for the hugs and flowers - they are much appreciated.
The vet has kept Dexter in as he would not let them near his eye. They are going to sedate him so they can have a good look and see what is going on. He may then be referred to another specialist vet. Chow chows do not respond well to anaesthetic because they are short nosed and have breathing difficulties so hoping he is okay.

dragonfly46 Mon 20-Apr-20 13:08:08

Photo is Dexter as a baby!

Nannapat1 Mon 20-Apr-20 13:16:50

Gosh@Carillion01! Only allowed out for 1 hour...here we have to queue for as long as that to just get inside the supermarket or pharmacist!

CherryCezzy Mon 20-Apr-20 13:17:33

So cute as a puppy I bet he's a beautiful dog dragonfly. Sorry the vet has had to keep him in and is going to sedate him. They know what they're doing, they will be very careful. Easy for me to say I know but try to remain calm and don't let your worrying overwhelm you flowers
