The above is rather a long article but explains clearly how the virus spreads - through long periods of social gatherings rather than shopping in supermarkets etc. It makes interesting reading

Maybe HM could have a quiet word with the Royal Ascot covaidiots. She could threaten to take the ‘royal’ bit away. ?

I’ve just seen someone towing their caravan along a road near us. I sincerely hope they will find no open sites here. angry

The Housing Minister has been very very naughty and drove 40 miles to take his parents medication and food despite the fact they are well supported by community groups in their village. Hummmm. Well no doubt those who laid into Scotland’s CMO will be along in a moment to severely castigate him.

Well a lot to be said about "that weekend "when Lockdown was forthcoming.. and pubs clubs/eating places were told to shut, all and sundry went out to all of those places having their last drinks/meals socialising, kissing /hugging and crying , like they do on New Years eve ..I wonder how many of them had symptoms and then spread it amongst all the others! selfish people.

When people were questioned here about this very thing, they responded with “well lock down doesn’t start until Monday so it’s fine”

Labaik Thu 09-Apr-20 21:21:37

And Johnsons father Stanley said that if he wanted to go to the pub he would..

Labaik Thu 09-Apr-20 21:22:21

...oh, and he's been allowed to leave London to go to the family farm...

My daughter lives near Cheltenham, she knows several people who became ill after attending the Cheltenham Races, all are now recovered, but of course none of them were ill enough to be hospitalised,so no tests.

It should never have gone ahead.

Exactly Summerlove. We were already isolating and could hear the revelries going on.

The Housing Minister needs to resign

SueDonim Thu 09-Apr-20 22:47:12

A minister has driven 40 miles to his parents? If it was not an essential journey for a v good reason, that’s disgraceful.

suziewoozie Thu 09-Apr-20 23:20:00

He’s appeared at press conferences actually saying that you might want to help your parents out but you should use local community groups to do it if you don’t live near by. He says he took food and medicines - locals say local, groups were helping his parents out. It’s not a good look is it? The least he should do is say sorry and he won’t do it again.

SueDonim Fri 10-Apr-20 01:25:28

The Guardian says he was also taking medication to his parents but surely they’d have a local GP/chemist?

suziewoozie Fri 10-Apr-20 07:20:22

Yes Sue his story doesn’t add up. When you’re in a hole, it’s best to stop digging and just say sorry. Justifying your actions often makes the situation worse.

Johnson prevaricated

Covid19 is spread by droplet infection. If the droplets land on you that’s first hand infection. If they land on a surface and you touch that then it’s second hand infection.

Everyone knows, or ought to know by now, exactly how it is spread.

That was to AGA

Did anyone watch the Horizon programme last night. I recoiled at the sight of the live animal market. Was I correct, in a fleeting glance otters? I couldn’t look at the white fluff crammed in a basket gasping for breath anyone any idea what animal it was? Too many other animals to mention. The programme bought it all home.

Dinahmo Fri 10-Apr-20 11:57:21

The Housing Secretary has not only driven 40 miles to his parents, he's also driven from Westminster, where he has a flat and should therefore be there, to his home in Shropshire. He also has a home in his constituency which is in Newark.

Dinahmo Fri 10-Apr-20 11:59:28

I didn't watch the Horizon programme last night - couldn't bear it being someone who still cries at Lassie and Bambi. However, the Chinese govt has drawn up a list of animals that can no longer be eaten and it includes dogs, which is good news.
