Chowdhury, a consultant urologist at Homerton hospital in east London, had pleaded with the prime minister for better PPE to protect frontline health workers from coronavirus. He died after spending 15 days in Queen’s hospital, Romford. In a letter to Boris Johnson, posted on Facebook, he wrote: “Please ensure urgently PPE for each and every NHS health worker.” It also called for Covid-19 testing to be fast-tracked for health workers. The Muslim Doctors’ Association said it was “deeply saddened” by his death. In a Facebook post it said he left behind a wife and two children.

Quite a few staff of the Muslim community have died.

Indeed they have. Once reviled and told to go back to where they came from, they have given their lives. Whilst this man was pleading for equipment , our esteemed leader was shaking the hands of Covid patients.

Many of these doctors/specialists and consultants who have died will be greatly missed in their fields of specialised medicine. A great loss.

A heart specialist lost his life this week and they matter enormously.

I was once being treated by a Sikh specialist in heart problems and a most pleasant character you'd ever wish to meet. None of the arrogance shown that you sadly see in many of our own consultants.

I had a very aggressive cancer, 10 years ago. Not one of the doctors/consultants that treated me was English. They were all, without fail, compassionate and gave me an excellent quality of care. I owe my life to them.
