Today's update is being led by Priti today, maybe they saw our thread ?

She’s a very attractive woman.

Greymar Sat 11-Apr-20 19:18:37

If it's this angry it's probably socialist

What does that mean?

lemongrove Sat 11-Apr-20 19:17:15

You dislike her WW.....we get it.?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Apr-20 19:14:14

The other glorious statement , I don’t know if you noticed sirchen was her insistence when asked where she had been - her reply

I’ve been workin’ virtually every day, seven days a week, .... three days a week actually.”
??

I think she would have been better off with Larry’s lectern, as well.

Not easy being a Tory but far better than going to the dark side

SirChenjin Sat 11-Apr-20 19:09:41

I liked her confidence in her figures too Urm - it was an absolute joy to behold

Urmstongran Sat 11-Apr-20 19:07:39

I liked her conviction and her confidence in what she was saying but I think she is going to get some flack for the "I’m sorry you feel that way statement" and at points she seemed to lack empathy . But overall I think she held her own and out of a lot of the MP's and government officials who have given press conferences and been on panels, she seems to really listen to the questions and break down the answer.

As frustrated as I get with how a lot of answers are breezed over and the go to statement is "we are following the science" Maybe they don't have the answers currently and maybe we will get more insight over this next week?

SirChenjin Sat 11-Apr-20 19:06:02

I don’t know - we do need a little light entertainment to see us through these dark days (however many thousands of hundreds and thousands there may be ahead of us)

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Apr-20 19:04:18

I can only conclude after reading the reaction to Patels car crash of a press conference that she would have been better off remaining wherever she has been for a month.

lemongrove Sat 11-Apr-20 19:00:41

That’s better WW ....get back to content and leave all the snobbish comments about diction/ accent behind!

SirChenjin Sat 11-Apr-20 18:59:47

Priti Vacant didn’t disappoint, I’ll give you that.

Eglantine21 Sat 11-Apr-20 18:58:27

Oh well at least you can bask in your superiority

It’s a good thing us working classes have got intelligent people like you to guide us.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Apr-20 18:57:45

Does anyone remember the massive grief given to Abbott over her muddled numbers? Makes you smile doesn’t it?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Apr-20 18:55:39

It was not her finest hour I must say, along with all her dropped “g’s” and somethink.

varian Sat 11-Apr-20 18:54:56

I'm irritated by her poor diction, apparent low intelligence and uncaring attitude. What is she doing (doing, not doin) as our Home Secretary?

SirChenjin Sat 11-Apr-20 18:53:20

Three hundred thousand and thirty four, nine hundred and seventy four thousand tests carried out across the UK

That’s like a huge big massive number of amount of tests shock

Happiyogi Sat 11-Apr-20 18:52:48

It was her mention of our "national pandemic" that did it for me!

lemongrove Sat 11-Apr-20 18:52:43

grin Eglantine
I think some posters are very easily irritated.

Eglantine21 Sat 11-Apr-20 18:52:37

Actually, seriously if socialism isn’t egalitarian and mocks others’ backgrounds, what is it?

I’m sad at where it’s gone.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Apr-20 18:52:24

If .you say so eglantine

Eglantine21 Sat 11-Apr-20 18:49:55

It would irritate your delicate ear.........

Eglantine21 Sat 11-Apr-20 18:49:21

Diction, accent, whatever.

It’s still snobby.

You’d be horrified at mine?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Apr-20 18:46:42

I am not mocking her accent, she doesn’t appear to have a pronounced one .

I am irritated by her diction. And don’t be silly it’s not snobbish it is irritation.

Urmstongran Sat 11-Apr-20 18:44:39

Haters gonna hate.

Pittcity Sat 11-Apr-20 18:36:02

Nobody has mentioned her numerical slip up:
"Three hundred thousand and thirty four, nine hundred and seventy four thousand tests carried out across the UK"

If Diane Abbott made that mistake, it’d be front page news.
