Are you sure his local is not called The Cock and Bull?
Which British song sums up the 1960s for you?
Why do restaurants and takeaways close so early now?
Times article claim that Waspi women are tone deaf and should read the room
My very law abiding neighbours seem to have changed since the Cummings interview.
One couple headed off to their second home the day after and I have noticed that others are no longer observing the 2 metre advice.
This is a very small community and I am wondering if others are not complying now with the rules.
If this is happening across the country then it is very worrying. I know many people are angry and feel betrayed.
Are you sure his local is not called The Cock and Bull?
Nothing will convince me that Boris is NOT trying to deflect poor public opinion of DomCum by giving us 'plebs' a bit more freedom from lockdown.
NO CHANCE OF THAT, Boris - increasing numbers of people are realising that YOU are trying to protect him for 'whatever personal reason you might have'.
Dangling a 'tasty carrot of so-called freedom' in front of our noses, is NOT GOING TO WORK.
This is incredibly disturbing footage. Sir Humphry Wakefield stands in his crypt, sipping red wine and discussing genetics.
(By the way, his son-in-law Dominic Cummings has written lots about the “heritability” of intelligence and the future of eugenics.)

My Durham pals tell me the country estate part-owned by Cummings, where he does his partially sighted driving tests, is roughly half way between two famous pubs, the Cock of the North & the Honest Lawyer. I suspect being a Johnson man, he is more for the Cock than the Honest

Cummings has upset one of the biggest and most dangerous constituencies in Britain: grandparents -
As rules change gradually, then there are those who constantly stretch them and do what suits their own ‘thinking’.. This has been from the start and nothing to do with the Cummings effect. I am behaving properly as I always have done. Great to see some shops opening longer, shortening the hours actually made things worse.
Yes Furret -I feel the same.
And Yes, Miss Adventure, I just want to sit in the sun and be quiet (and peaceful)
I count my blessings, I'm not hungry and because I'm classed as clinically vulnerable I qualify for a priority food delivery. Who knew that something like that could be added to my list of blessings.
Another blessing is that no one in my family or close friendship group is anything other than disappointed in the behaviour of Cummings and Johnson.
Never mind.
Can we all just sit in the sun and be quiet.
In a nutshell Furret.
What makes me angry, and I’m not easily roused to that emotion, is their belief that us, the ‘little people’ are not important.
Our opinion doesn’t matter even though recent polls showed 75% think Cummings was wrong, clearly lying and refused to apologise. They are banking on this furore dying down with statements such as ‘draw a line under it’.
It’s the smirk on Boris’ face that says it all.
I'm seething about Dominic Cummings because he has a sinister hold over our so called government. As for Corona virus they are now trying to do the right thing but they have made some dreadful mistakes costing more lives than need have been lost. No unelected adviser should have such a hold over a prime minister. He has to go. Corona Virus has provided a dsitraction from Brexit which has a far more devastating impact on the long term prospects of our country.
One of my cousins went into hospital in a bad way, Covid free, while there he contracted Covid and sadly passed away. My wife is one of the 1.5 million extra vulnerable so what ever the officials say we will continue to be very careful.
Yes I'm rebelling not against the handling of Covid but because of the impending chaos caused by the incompetent handling of Brexit. After 2016 Vote Leave didn't have a clue of what do and they are still clueless. DC engineered the deceitful Vote Leave campaign and is using his hold over the PM to follow his twisted ideology.
Cant we just get through this pandemic without the drama. Im sticking to all the rules and made lots of sacrifices and no am not annoyed about Mr Cummings. Time later to talk about mistakes not now when we are emerging from lockdown without a vaccine.
A lot of people say would not vote for Boris I thought he would get rid of Dominic Cummings causing a lot of trouble and there is a lot of hurt in this country. But can't help some people doing what they want.
The difference is he had the baying media at his door and nasty threats on his social media while the threat of covid19 hung over his family
Chinese whispers yourself, Peardrop50 (I'm flattered that you copied my phrase
He did not have any 'baying media' at his door at the end of March. There was absolutely no reason for there to be any there as the enormity of his 'herd immunity' preference hadn't really hit home with the public and he wasn't notorious as he is today. There was no story so absolutely no reason for them to be there.
In fact, Islington residents have tweeted that it was as quiet as the grave at that time because everyone was in lockdown. I wish I'd bookmarked some...
Personally, I'd like to focus a whole lot more.
i think that now we are focusing too much on the cummings debate, if he has done wrong hes not the only one, i ventured into my local mc calls armed with mask and gloves. i was the only one, not many in the shop but no one else were doing as they should , nothing to do with dominic cummings and what about all the traffic etc to get on beaches
After the divisiveness of Brexit the country seemed reunited over coronavirus. Cummings has ruined that feeling of everyone pulling together for a change.
Boris backing him without question has made me angry and unsettled.
Yes, that's it.
He hit the nail right on the head; made me laugh, at least.
@MissAdventureOooh was that the Bullshit one? Pardon my French?
Have you seen the paddy mcguiness video, misty?
He sums it up hilariously, and says exactly that (in a song)
The thing that annoys me most is after listening to Dominic Cummings interview I can't help thinking that neither he or his wife had Covid at all! As far as I know they were not tested, which is strange considering his role. I think they went away for a few days for his wife's birthday and only came out with the Covid story and needing childcare, after been spotted in parents garden and this hit the News
It's about family, and we all have one (hopefully
I feel really angry to think anyone imagines that theirs somehow trumps anyone else's.
I would say that those who complied with the rules will continue to do so.
What Boris fails to realise is that the majority of people in this country are not prepared to accept the “one rule for us and another for you” and “do as I say, not as I do” which they are trying to push down our throats.
The contempt shown to all of us who sacrificed our liberty under the mistaken impression that “we are all in this together” has turned the ordinary citizen against Boris.
Abroad he has made our nation a laughing stock.
At home he has done untold damage to how he will be remembered and next election the Conservative party will suffer as a result.
Either Cummings should be forced to resign or both puppet and puppet master should go together.
Meanwhile those who were not sticking to the rules now have the excuse of precedent to ignore them even further. These people are dangerous and can undo much of the good work our sacrifices made possible.
To put us back on track Cummings must go.
We have lost all confidence in Boris (and his advisers), & decided that we will follow our own rules which we have kept from the start......We remain self isolating and only go into public places once a week to shop, wearing a mask.
The only thing that we long to do is to visit our daughter and camp in their garden so they get a break from trying to home school the children etc. We won't do it until it's 'permitted' though.
What's so depressing is how the culture of brazen disregard for the truth is absolutely now the norm in Government. I'm sure those in power have always bent the rules, but to watch Gove smirking as he lied yesterday to support Cummings' perversion of truth made me feel sick. And now we are being "instructed" by Hancock to self isolate when told to under the Track and Trace system. Tragically many people won't, precisely because they see that Cummings got away with not doing so in March. We have completely lost the plot in this country.
