...who actually have, or had, Covid19? Not just people who say they’re ‘ sure they had it’, but definite cases. I only know of two, one who contracted it in hospital following admission for a broken hip, and another who died in a care home.

Please try not to drift ‘ off topic’, as I’m really interested to hear your answers to the question.

I felt very poorly end Feb and was in bed fir 10 days but have no clue whether it was regular flu or covid. I have heard many people saying they have had it without any tests to confirm or deny.
We are in south east close to London, a couple of dh ex colleagues have died and one was close to it but pulled through. He was very fit but is left with many problems, heart lungs and kidney functions and has a long rehabilitation still ahead.
The real thing is not a walk in the park which is why I was surprised that BJ came out of intensive care and was back within a few days, but suppose that’s for another thread.

My daughter and her husband had it and had to look after themselves and my two granddaughters who were also ill by themselves. I was a very worrying time.

My cousin's sister in law in Northern Ireland.. Went into hospital for an un related illness and unfortantly died. A friend of my DS their whole family caught it and have all since recovered.

None.

My ex-brother-in-law recently died as a result of Covid-19, and I have a pupil in my bubble at school whose Grandma has recently been diagnosed.

SparklyGrandma Mon 22-Jun-20 11:04:27

In my town, I know of 5 cases, 6 including me. 2 friends of mine have had it, one mild one not.

There are more cases but I don’t know them.

HurdyGurdy Mon 22-Jun-20 10:59:15

Two. A work colleague who was so ill, but not bad enough to be hospitalised.

And a friend, who, worryingly, works in a care home, who tested positive, but had zero symptoms

Blossoming Mon 22-Jun-20 10:59:03

None, at the moment.

OpenUniversity2017 Mon 22-Jun-20 10:58:11

I, for definite. My mum, living in a care home, tested positive for the virus. Three days after the test result she passed away.

BlueSky Mon 22-Jun-20 10:54:29

Good God GagaJo! How dreadful! That explains why you were isolating and so fearful!

charleygran Mon 22-Jun-20 10:53:53

4 people. One nurse, lives directly opposite me. One care worker and her parents. All recovered, although the nurse -who is in her forties - was ill for five weeks. We’re on the south coast.

I had this conversation a couple of days ago with OH. I said I knew about 8 people and was told about several more (relatives of friends) - but they were all when it wasn't so easy to get a test, so although they all had symptoms of varying severity (one still hasn't got his sense of taste back) - none were actually tested.
So OH said "That's none then"

0 locally. Friends of family living 60 miles away: daughter took temporary work in care home, became infected but very slight symptoms, passed it to her father who was poorly for a month (not warranting hospital treatment) whilst mother tested negative and has remained well. Friend 50 miles away and who I have only chatted to on phone returned from skiing trip, all her travel companions went down with symptoms, as did her next door neighbour so she paid for antibody test and she’d had it without symptoms.

TrendyNannie6 Mon 22-Jun-20 10:44:02

I don’t actually know of any personally, but neighbour knows of 7

Granmaz Mon 22-Jun-20 10:43:47

Myself and my husband have definitely had it, I’ve had an antibody test which came back positive.
We had it at the end of March, my husband was very poorly with an extreme headache and temperature for about 5 days, then a slow recovery with a lot of tiredness. He has asthma and was slightly short of breath but thankfully nothing more serious than that. I had a much milder version, very tired, a slight cough and nasal congestion (but not a cold type congestion, no mucus just congested) and lost sense of smell and taste for about 10 days.
I wish we had more information on exactly what having the antibodies means.

pen50 Mon 22-Jun-20 10:43:25

One, who lives in London. Round here (Gloucestershire) there's a very low incidence. I do think that they could allow local variation in the rules for emergence from lockdown; there's really no reason why our hospitality venues shouldn't be open now.

Bobdoesit Mon 22-Jun-20 10:41:33

My best friend’s brother, his wife and two daughters. All tested positive. All well now, thank goodness. Another friend lost a friend of hers. So five in all and five too many as far as I’m concerned. Wish the flipping virus would die out before anyone else has to suffer from it.

Leolady73 Mon 22-Jun-20 10:35:37

My daughter and her boyfriend. First test said negative and took 13 days, then second positive with antibodies - so inefficient. Glad my daughter took sensible precautions so as not to ineffective others. Now two months later she is still having joint pain and fatigue.

Thecatshatontgemat Mon 22-Jun-20 10:33:51

None.
I am well, all my friends are well (some are high risk) , all my work colleagues are well, and all my neighbours are well.
(West Sussex area)

GrammarGrandma Mon 22-Jun-20 10:33:37

6, I suppose. One who caught it in hospital where she had an emergency gall bladder removal. One who was in intensive care for nearly seven weeks but is now getting better. One who was in hospital three months but is now home and recovering. The remaining three sadly died: friends' brother (60), friend's adult daughter (54) and friend's partner (age unknown). Different friends! No-one close to me but enough to keep me aware and cautious.

Keeper1 Mon 22-Jun-20 10:33:15

None I am in Lincolnshire

Tallyann1 Mon 22-Jun-20 10:31:58

Christalbee Mon 22-Jun-20 10:31:34

None at all. Either with it, had it or died from it. My daughter is a fire fighter in the London and my Son in law in the Met Police. They don't know anyone either! I live in London and don't know anyone. Lucky I guess!

Nanna58 Mon 22-Jun-20 10:31:19

None, and I’m in London too.
