Hi all. This is our new thread for those who have been and may still be shielding. We will carry posting regardless of whether or not we are in lockdown.
Jeeves is in the kitchen opening the bubbly.
I have plumped up all the cushions in our new abode and look forward to welcoming old and new friends. Feel free to join in.

CherryCezzy Tue 25-Aug-20 20:42:08

I'm just about here Doodle, although a little grumpy ?.
Not really feeling very chatty but wanted to tune in so I could add to Panache's cwtch for Mamissimo.

I think you could do with a cwtch too Grammaretto after your fall, so adding one for you too. I'm glad you're not too injured.

You're right Grammaretto, it isn't nice falling on a relatively regular basis. Tiggers don't always bounce.

You and your DH too had a bad night then Doodle. Neither me nor my WP had much sleep. I hope you both have had a relaxing day today.

Panache, I hope everything went well at the dentist.

Love your photo BradfordLass and I like your jumper too. I love bright clothes ☺️
So you managed to get three hats on and Grammaretto can't find one big enough. I have the opposite problem usually - they're all too big ?. I really hate Christmas crackers as all those hats just slip down over my head and end up round my neck ? ?.

Mamissimo, I hope you are resting and giving yourself time to heal.

Hope everyone has a restful night.

Doodle Tue 25-Aug-20 21:31:07

nfk I too find wearing masks suffocating. I haven’t been to any shops since lockdown started. Did you buy anything nice ? Never been to Norwich but I imagine it’s quite a big shopping centre. Glad you enjoyed yourselves.
cherry sorry you’re not feeling too good. Nice of you to pop in to see how the gangsters are getting on.
Jeeves is on standby tonight with a variety of drinks and potions and ready to dole out hot water bottles, sympathy, cuddles or bed time stories, whatever is needed.
Hope everyone has a peaceful night tonight. mamissimo I hope you’re tucked up safely in your own bed. Sleep well all.

Missedout Tue 25-Aug-20 23:07:45

Hi gangsters, I thought I'd look in and wish you all a good night.

Today, DH and I 'ate out to help out' with another couple. Our friends had booked it as soon as the vouchers were announced but had difficulty in finding somewhere with vacancies. It was pleasant to do something normal.

In defence of Norfolk, the roads and countryside are lovely, especially when seen from the seat of an open vintage car. DH installed a hidden cigar lighter socket in our car so I use sat nav when out and about. As our runs are planned, I usually program our various destinations into the sat nav, so if we fall behind, we can catch up or, if as frequently happens, we can take the lead if we are all lost. (Not all our cars have reverse gears so turning and retracing our route is not always the best solution.)

I'll be back again soon but just wanted to say that I'm glad that guv Doodle returned so quickly, that Mamissimo is posting again but sorry to hear that Cherry's tigger tail is flagging a bit. Also, thank you, all of you for being here.

PS - I have a dentist appointment at last - I never thought I'd look forward so much to such an event.

Good night all.

BradfordLass73 Wed 26-Aug-20 01:15:33

Welcome home mamissimo! take it easy now. I've just been reading about laparoscopic cholecystectomy; what miracles they can perform.

You too Cherry it's the only way to get that Tigger tail back.

Grammaretto I was told the rug just inside my front door was a tripping hazard and I should get rid of it.
I pointed out that the tiles it covered were ultra-slippy when wet and far more dangerous than a rug.

Whoever designed these houses for the elderly put no thought into it at all.
Tiles on the kitchen floor too - forcing me to have carpet laid after I fell 3 times in the first month I lived here.
Fortunately, I'm well padded grin

Good luck at the dentist Panache. Wot, me, in mischief? Never smile

I am feeling quite proud of myself today. Small thing really but it took some doing.
I wanted to buy my grandson a Lego Creator pack as his Christmas gift.
A local store sells it and I have earned gift cards for that store, by doing online surveys.
Each card has 16 tiny numbers one must put into the order form. I had 12 cards smile So 12 lots of 16 numbers to key in. It took ages but I did it!

My eyes were protesting but I ignored them and just ploughed on. The pack will be delivered next week. Yay!

I know it seems crazy to do Christmas shopping in August but as things are, Lego is in big demand and I could have lost out if I'd waited.

Yes Nfk I too was thinking about the specious arguments over face covering and how it and the demonising of plastic has all faded away now we need them.
My friend in NY calls it 'the dog whistle effect'.

I was invited to contribute to a book documenting 'How it is for the elderly in NZ' and they've just written to say they've chosen my words. Sadly, the editor told me I was one of very few who didn't write a catalogue of moans.
I've nowt to moan about so that was easy grin

Wishing all of you a calm and peaceful night and a lovely day tomorrow. flowers

PS: Jeeve is looking pleased with himself, I suppose it's all the cwtch y mae wedi bod yn eu rhoi grin

Grammaretto Wed 26-Aug-20 08:10:19

BradfordLass we are lucky to have you in our gang to do the night shift and to keep us cheerful.
I must think about Christmas for the NZ clan.
I can easily get into moaning mode.
I was lucky the fall wasn't too bad. The thin hall rug on ancient lino tiles on concrete floor is not as bad as when I slipped on black ice once and broke my wrist. (the same wrist which I'd broken a few months before in a stable while trying to push a solid exmoor pony out of my way)
I learned a lesson then that any pony, however small, is stronger than me.

Good to see you Missedout and to hear that your teeth are getting seen at last.
Hope Mamissimo is feeling 100% better soon and is getting enough rest.
No yarn group today. I may mix up some glazes.
I spoke to my Dsis and she is understanding and amenable.
I think we all need something to look forward to. GtGPa wants another family party!

Mamissimo Wed 26-Aug-20 09:49:33

Good morning gang!

I'm surviving and should be far more the thing by the weekend. My op was jolly complicated and took 4 hours instead of the anticipated one but my lovely very Ra consultant came bounding in to see me and to thank me for a wonderful dissection experience. Apparently it was 'super'. Turns out that when my stoma was reversed an awful lot of adhesions formed and they did some nifty sorting out before they could reach the gall bladder. Clever people!

I felt very safe because I had a private suite which they are using for people who have been shielded, and the surgery took place in the same building which has small theatres normally used for endoscopies etc. It's been kept Covid free throughout the pandemic and used for shielded people who needed treatment.

DH is looking after me well and the place looks like a florists shop. Our lovely cleaner is coming in to help him every day because otherwise I'd get dinner at bedtime....bless him but his body clock is completely different to mine. There's a ten year age difference between us and I'm a lark and he's an owl...but we didn't really discover this until we were retired.

My tigger tail is a bit droopy today and I think I'm back to bed...?

Nortsat Wed 26-Aug-20 10:05:29

Oh Mammissimo so pleased to hear that you provided a ‘super dissection experience’, it’s good to be useful. Only kidding, very pleased to hear that it is successfully over. Wishing you steady progress to recovery.

Grammaretto, hope you aren’t too bruised and are recovering.
Cherry, I hope you have a decent day.

I have a medical appointment and then taking Missy to the vet. I will stay in the car at the vets and speak to them on the phone, while my DP takes her into the surgery,

Have a good day, gangsters ?

Doodle Wed 26-Aug-20 11:18:05

missedout your vintage car excursions sound nice. Do you go as a group of enthusiasts? No reverse gear would be a problem for me, I’m always getting lost ?
Hope the dental appointment goes well. It’s funny what we look forward to now isn’t it ??

Doodle Wed 26-Aug-20 11:53:44

bradfordlass well done you. Your grandson will be delighted with his Christmas present and it’s extra special that you have spent time organising it for him. ?
We are carpet people too. DH isn’t a fan of rugs as his balance is none too good.
What a wonderful attitude to have that you have nothing to moan about. Not surprised they chose your words, we enjoy your stories and your writing style is so interesting.
grammaretto Good you’re not too badly hurt. Bit of a shock though. Glad you managed to speak to your sister and she was ok with things. That’s one less thing to worry about now.
If you don’t mind me asking, how old is gt grandpa? He sounds a lively chap ?
mamissimo good to hear you’re doing ok. We’re very proud to have such an interesting gang member to give the surgeons something to get their teeth into ...if you see what I mean ?
Sounds as though you are being well looked after. Yes back to bed with you for some rest.
nortsat hope both you and Missy get on well with your medical appointments. Is Missy ok?
No more antibiotics for DH today so hopefully a better night tonight. It was so windy and dark here last night. We could hear this tremendous whistling and rattling noise, quite ghostly and loud. Then DH found out that one of our windows was open a tiny fraction and that was the source of the problem. It didn’t help that I had been watching a trailer for a poltergeist series. ?
Hope the panaches and cherry are ok. Not heard from dragonfly for a long time but still thinking of her and all the gangsters. Have a good day all.

NfkDumpling Wed 26-Aug-20 13:05:59

Good Heavens Grammaretto, I should think your tigger tail is a bit droopy - four hours! And it sounds as if it was a little complicated too, and surgeons love that. They do seem to relish a challenge!

Thank you for defending Norfolk roads Missedout. They can be very devious, our roads. No really, really steep hills and few sharp bends - except when you're lulled into a relaxed state at the end of straight bits around old field systems. Instead they gentle sway and swing from right to left until you can't tell which way you're faced!

I love the idea of cruising around in a vintage car with the top down and drool over the ones appearing occasionally at our local stately pile and the narrow gauge railway down the road. How does anyone manage without a reverse gear? I do remember such things did exist but that was in the days before white van man and enormous tractors on our narrow roads.

How are you today Cherry? I hope you're better today tigger wise.

Now off to look up laparoscopic cholecystectomy. My DiL's mum had one last week (straightforward apparently), but I've no real idea what it entailed as I didn't know what it was called!

Grammaretto Wed 26-Aug-20 13:16:54

It wasn't me NfkD having a 4 hr operation but rather Mamissimo
For a moment I thought you were comiserating over my slight bruising!

I am presently in the hospital carpark waiting for DHs scan while he has to drink a litre of the contrast solution..
Not sure how his catheter bag will last without emptying.
He isn't supposed to enter radiology until his appointment time which is 2pm.
How romantic we are! grin

Doodle Wed 26-Aug-20 19:37:09

nfk you have summed up Norfolk roads perfectly. We had a great time in Norfolk just had trouble finding our way around.
grammaretto hope DHs scan goes ok. I remember my DH having to drink that stuff too. Hope he catheter bag held out. Life when you get older does seem to revolve around bodily functions ?. Hope you’re home safe and sound now.

CherryCezzy Wed 26-Aug-20 20:42:11

I'm not at all surprised that your Tigger tail is droopy at the moment Mamissimo. I hope you did go back to bed, you need to rest and recuperate ?️
I sent my WP into the loft to have a look in our old red suitcase; specific purpose. As I hoped there were several Tigger tails, you get first pick Mamissimo but there's enough to go round for all of you.
I have kept a spare ?

I've had quite a busy day, well busier than it's been recently. Did a load of washing, sorted out a chest of drawers, cleaned the extension and "sealed" it off until tomorrow, did another load of washing and made a lasagna, koftis, flatbreads and a cherry tart (*not completely in that order). I was putting out the second load of washing out and thinking 'ah, I think I've earned a cuppa' when one of my neighbours was passing, he stopped for a chat .... my cuppa sits beside me now! ?

Glad you've had a bit of normality return Missedout. You didn't say but I hope you enjoyed your meal.
I'm intrigued about your vintage car/s not having reverse gear. I thought that all, even vintage, cars had to have a reverse gear to be legal on the road ?. What do I know, I don't even drive do I ?.

BradfordLass I agree 100%. You would think that when designing and fitting, including the flooring, homes that are meant to be specially for older and/or disabled people they would consider whether it was fit for purpose. What they should do, in my book, is fit high grade non slip "vinyl", the type fitted in hospitals. I have it fitted in my upstairs bathroom and the downstairs extension. It has a very good grip. When we, eventually ?, get our new kitchen it's definitely being fitted in there too.
My great nephew2 loves ? Lego. He loves the kits with the teeny tiny bricks. Lego has come a long way since I was young, the architect ones are amazing.
You certainly have yourself a task putting in those codes. I hope you rested your eyes afterwards!
Well done on having your words chosen for that book. Writing, and he research you put in, is clearly something you enjoy, you're good at it too.
Jeeves is a good hearted fellow to have been giving all those cwtches. I think he deserves some back maybe ? ?.

Concrete floors are a nightmare Grammaretto. Our lounge and dining room have concrete floors. We laid a wooden floor (lined of course) on top of the floor in the dining room and carpet in the lounge. It would have been a nightmare for me otherwise. I hope you are recovering from your fall.
Shame about your yarn group today. I'm sure you all enjoy a good yarn together. I'm missing my quiz group at the moment as we're on a two week break at the moment?.
I hope Mr G's scan went okay.

Mamissimo you were clearly well cared for in hospital ?. That was some operation you had. It never ceases to amaze me what these skilled surgeons can do now. I always find it a weird experience, they give you anaesthetic and then... it's done and you're awake. You have no idea how long it's taken. That may sound strange coming from someone who loses consciousness on a regular basis ?.
I'm glad your cleaner has come to help. I won't give you flowers, since it sounds like you have plenty and so much better than any I can offer so I send you some ?.

Hope your medical appointment went well Nortsat and the vet was able to help Missy with whatever ails her.

Hope everything is okay with you Nflk. We received a letter, yes some people still write them, from Norfolk today. It is a lovely part of the country, I love all the little towns and villages as well as the landscape.

Good news that your DH has finished his antibiotics Doodle, at least I hope so. I hope he does have a better night tonight and that you do too. I hope the family matter that you thought might keep you away from us is settled down or is settling down. Life has a habit of throwing things, or us, up sometimes and it can get to us, we never know where they will land or if we will have a soft landing.

Ooh that cuppa went down well, I think I'll get another ?

Ninarosa Wed 26-Aug-20 21:12:10

I've just washed my smalls, feel free to take one ladies.

Doodle Wed 26-Aug-20 22:19:58

cherry I would love a Tigger tail. Thank you so much. My inner Tigger is very pleased.? (I hope you’ve got one for Jeeves as he would be upset to be left out ?)
You most certainly have had a busy day. All that washing and cooking, you must have been firing on all cylinders ?
Lasagne is one of DH’s favourite dishes. Please leave any leftovers in the kitchen for him. Thank you for thinking of me and my family, I’m hoping things settle down as you said.
Ninarosa you have very colourful “smalls” . You also have sunshine ?
Hope all the gangsters have a peaceful night. Sleep well all and put your Tigger tails somewhere safe ?

Nortsat Wed 26-Aug-20 22:48:34

Ninarosa I was a bit worried when I saw your post about your ‘smalls’ ... not another peculiar one I thought ... then I enlarged the photo of your ‘smalls’ and it made me laugh.

Thanks Cherry, Missy is fine. She was off her food for two days and as she is a 16.5 year old cat, we were concerned. We booked her an urgent appointment at the vets. As soon as we had done so, she ate all her supper and then all her breakfast the following morning! So we rang the vet and they said we shouldn’t take her (she has a heart condition and panics in the car and in the Waiting Room). We should just continue to monitor her food intake and watch her.
The Vet Nurse said Missy had obviously overheard me making the appointment and decided to eat all her food, so she didn’t have to go to the Vet.
Doodle let’s hope we all have a quieter night tonight, without rattling windows and howling wind.
Bradford sounds like the Lego will be a great success at Chr***mas.
I have got a 24 hour blood pressure monitor strapped to my arm, which is currently inflating and measuring my BP every 30 mins. After 11.00 pm it inflates only hourly, but as it buzzes and clicks, we thought it made sense for my partner to sleep in the spare bed tonight.

Good night gangsters, have a comfortable nights sleep. Bzzz, bzzz, click ...

BradfordLass73 Thu 27-Aug-20 02:17:04

Sounds as if you're getting 1st class care all round Mamissimo. Excellent.
Grammaretto it's not just the bruising but the shock when you fall, isn't it?.
When I went base over apex in my garage, I damaged tendons and they take ages to heal. I think I need the Acme Bottom Saver, as pictured.

Nortsat (nice to see you back) and Nfk When I first visited the area where I now live, it was all orchards, vineyard, forests and fields. It's now houses as far as the eye can see.
Imagine what that's done to the wildlife, botany and the overall eco-system.
Animals shouldn't need a sanctuary but if that's the only way we can save them from our prodigality, so be it. But isn't it sad?

Please be glad Norfolk still has its old lanes and acres of farmland and places where wild birds can over-winter. They are precious - and we've lost so much already.

Doodle I'm so sorry you've been troubled with wind wink and I hope your dear DH has a much better night and more to come - we all need to rest easy in the wee, small hours.

My ranch-slider door scared me only yesterday - it was open a mere two inches but the wind whistled through with such a loud, human sound, I thought someone was in the house! shock My heart was pounding until I realised what it really was.

Ninarosa I wish I could see what's making everyone smile about your photo. sad

It's bitterly cold today but sunny, so I still have the doors open. Every now and then I leave my computer and run my frozen hands under a hot tap grin I'm enjoying the research necessary to complete the blog entries, even if I do look like Mr Magoo afterwards!

Rest well everyone flowers

Grammaretto Thu 27-Aug-20 10:04:54

Morning all!
Those comfy pants would only work if you fell backwards . I trip forwards usually so could do with a crash helmet and knee pads (the correct size naturally)

You are quite right Doodle life seems to revolve around bodily functions and doctor's appointments. sad

I have been asked out to lunch today in the garden of our local cafe, which now has a gazebo, but will be cold so I may have to wear my winter coat!

Mamissimo I hope you are convalescing nicely. I love that you are in a florist shop. smile

Can you remind us of the address of your blog Bradfordlass ?

I am glad that Missy is feeling better Nortsat

I liked your smalls Ninarosa wink they are face masks swinging on the line

Cruising around Norfolk roads in a vintage open top car does sound rather wonderful.

I agree about the filling up of the countryside with endless housing estates. We have them near here too and why are they so ugly! If I go into Edinburgh by bus I can no longer see the hills even from the top. I know people have to live somewhere but aren't we killing the goose which lays the golden eggs?

Mamissimo Thu 27-Aug-20 10:11:56

* bradfordlass* wind is an issue in my house at the moment....I've got post surgical wind trapped in my shoulders and it's proving reluctant to shift. I've been imbibing peppermint tea and my family think I'm nuts.....but it's a harmless way of doing something. I'm also windmilling to try to work it out.

Not a lot has happened here...DH seems to think I need feeding up. I asked if I could have some salmon for supper last night and he decided Shepherds Pie was what I needed ?

I've asked for salmon again today....and his reply is that it's not very comforting!

Sending arnica thoughts to the bruised.....

Doodle Thu 27-Aug-20 10:50:44

Morning all. Good news about Missy Nortsat. Always worrying when animals are off their food. I had a 24 hour BP monitor too. I think I slept in the armchair when I had mine as it kept waking me up. Hope your results are ok.
Well Bradfordlass you can imagine where my eyes were drawn this morning. Straight to that enormous pair of bloomers ?. It reminded me of something I’d like to post a link to but I don’t know how to do that. I will try and figure it out and post the link later.
The wind has subsided thank you ?
Ninarosa’s smalls are a washing line of colourful face masks. A bit difficult to make out at first even without eyesight problems.
Have you started your blog yet or are you still researching? Don’t like to think of you with frozen hands could you knit yourself some fingerless gloves?
Grammaretto I think to be on the safe side, how about a pair of bottom savers, crash helmet and knee defenders? You would probably fall over trying to balance that lot ?
We have so many building sites round us now too. People need to see grass and trees in my opinion and open space to calm the mind.
Morning Mamissimo. Hope you slept ok and you are recovering well from your op. I had post surgical wind after an op too but mine never made it up to my shoulders...how did you get it up there ?. The description of Your actions to get rid of the wind made me laugh. I can picture you windmilling ?
Hope everyone has a good day. Back later

I think I’ve found out how to do a link. Hope you can see it Bradfordlass it’s a very old clip of Kenny Everett as Rod Stewart and I thought of it immediately I saw you Acme bottom saver ?

Panache Thu 27-Aug-20 11:30:21

A big warm and belated Hi gangsters from Wales........ trying to overcome quite a battering both from wind and rain.
We personally escaped, apart from our little study window blowing wide open and almost losing it,thankfully being such a light sleeper I was immediately "on the case," though it took some brute strength to retrieve and save the situation.
However many areas, especially camp sites here in Pembrokeshire were badly flooded and many were evacuated.

Fortunately the rains had ceased before our dubious trip to the dentist, and yes Doodle we both returned with all the teeth we left here with!

I think the sheer excitement of it all proved too much for us both,we are so unused to people and groups. My dear man was quite poorly in fact, whilst apart fom his cancer issues he is having quite a rough deal with his emphysema.
Sleepless nights are not being very helpful.
I certainly felt very strange (nothing new there then I hear you mutter!!)

Whilst delighted that although your Hospital `op was quite a mammoth one Mamissimo so pleased that you were discharched nice and early, although there are those usual little blips......hopefully with such loving care from your beloved you will be fighting fit very soon.
Hope you enjoy your salmon!
I am sure you will understand when I say I am a little envious of the fact you are now Gall Bladder free, something I desperately need to rid me of those tedious painful bouts..........but the great men in white coats deem it far too complicated and dangerous in my case and age.I feel like refrring them to your good self.
Yet there you are hopefully free of those truly nasty bouts.
Onward and upward.

Hope life is settling down a little in the Doodle household too,and that your dear man having completed his A/B`s is feeling better.Indeed life revolves around bodily functions, especially those that have ones that refuse to function properly!

My word Cherry on your better days you do put your nose to the grindstone and get those needful chores tucked under your belt!!!I could do with some of your "get up and go"
I love designing and had I not got in for Nursing I may well have tried my hand in some form of design.Whilst I love old slate/stone flagstones they are certainly far from warm and definately not practical in many cases.

Enjoy your lunch out Grammeretto, though yes when you mentioning a Garden Centre and then wearing a coat I immediately understood.............lovely places whilst the sun is beaming down but inclined to be chilly when autumn seemily has descended early!!

Does those "Bottom savers" come in all sizes Bradfordlass???............having at long last started to put on the pounds I don`t think I shall need one for all the extra weight has stuck to my rear end!!

Am I seeing your picture correctly Ninarosa...........?? Very big mouths in your area!!!!

Wishing you all a very peaceful and wind free day,and as always.........do stay safe.

Grammaretto Thu 27-Aug-20 21:42:02

Hello again gangsters,

Solid rain most of the day but despite that it was full of fun.
The cafe was closed so we went to the Italian restaurant where we were a bit close together and these women make me laugh so much that I had to use my mask to hide my squeals of laughter.

In between times I have been searching the house for some home movies. I have one taken at my Dsis wedding 50 years ago but it is not to be found. We keep imagining we gave it to someone to put it on video/dvd and they never returned it. She and her DC would love to see it.

I spent too much time in the attic and found so many interesting things piles of rubbish that I think we should hire a skip.

Was it you Panache who moved very quickly last year? or was it you Doodle. Either way I would love to hear your story if you can bear to tell it.

I hope your days/nights have gone well.
Time for hot choccy and then an earliish night.

Doodle Thu 27-Aug-20 22:08:50

What a storm we’ve had tonight. Such loud thunder made me jump. Quietened down now.
Glad you’ve not been flooded panache but a shame about the many places that have been. Such a mess to clear up.
Sorry you both found the dentist a bit of an ordeal. Anything out of the ordinary at the moment must be exhausting for you both. Hope you are both relaxing back at home now.
DH and I are ok, thank you for asking. DH still not sleeping well but hopefully tonight will be a restful one for all of us.
grammaretto a giggle with your friends will do you the world of good. Hope the Italian restaurant was nice. You weren’t trying to eat pasta with your mask on were you? ?
It was panache and MrP who moved in a hurry last year, from their lovely house into the apartment they are now in. Those of us who were around at the time had All our fingers and toes crossed until the move finally took place.
Our Waitrose delivery tonight was a bit of a mystery. Neither of us could actually remember placing the order (although DH insists it was me ?). When it came, it had a number of strange things in it. One huge (really huge) banana, a small piece of rump steak (which I don’t normally buy), more eggs (I have plenty) and two packets of southern fried chicken which we don’t usually eat. DH thinks I might have had a a drop of wine before I placed the order...... he may well be right ?
Tomorrow is due to be very wet and windy so has been designated tidying up day (oh joy ?) .
Sleep well all.

BradfordLass73 Thu 27-Aug-20 22:23:56

Doodle What a wonderful start to my day! Thank you so much. grin

I laughed and laughed at the silly Kenny Everett. I used to listen to him on Radio Luxemburg and later remember him fighting the appalling Section28 introduced by the Conservatives, which forbade Local Council to uphold or promote gay rights. It was a long, hard fight to get rid of it, finally, in 2003.

I hope all is smoothing out with your family issues. I have the impression you're a close family so I'm sure there will be help and comfort there. Having been through some pretty dire things with my own family, I know how devastating they can be. But they pass, they really do. flowers

Don't you worry about my cold hands - it's a choice I make to have my door open (unless the weather is really foul and rain is literally blowing in). It's not cold enough to get frostbite and I couldn't type in gloves anyway.
I like to hear the birds as I work and at the moment, there are three pukeko screeching only a couple of yards away (gave them apple cores yesterday. Like Oliver, they want more smile ).
They are new visitors this close to the house and probably the reason why there've been no ducklings this year. sad

Gramaretto I wish someone would take me to lunch in a garden centre! I could add to my large behind with a butt-ered date scone smile

Mamissimo I'm surprised the hospital didn't recommend Dill (made into a tea and sipped warm) as that's sovereign for wind - remember Gripe Water? That's Dill.

Poor Panache what a fright in the night and a fight to make the window tight - it's not right! And your poor, poor man being overset by the stress of the dental journey; that's very sad, bless him. Both of you take it very easy now and recover. flowers

Doodle I try to do the blog every day but if I get involved in something away from my computer, I'm afraid it doesn't happen.
Today my girl is coming to change my bed. I still haven't got my test results but we've decided that if I caught the lurgy on 15th, it's gone by now. She's also bringing some vegetables smile

the-lockdown-diary.blogspot.com

It seems as if Linden Flower tea is needed all round for my dear gangsters but if you can't get it, camomile is a reasonable substitue (but in my opinion, doesn't taste as nice).
Or of course you could always have a drop of the hard stuff - Horlicks smile
