Hi all. This is our new thread for those who have been and may still be shielding. We will carry posting regardless of whether or not we are in lockdown.
Jeeves is in the kitchen opening the bubbly.
I have plumped up all the cushions in our new abode and look forward to welcoming old and new friends. Feel free to join in.

I hope Mr G's hospital appointment went well Grammaretto. It sounds like it was quite a long one. I'm really pleased that you spent your wait with your DS and not alone. Sounds like you had a soothing walk around the botanic gardens. That, followed by the home comfort of your DS's sofa and a nice hot cuppa (at least) no doubt, I'm sure made things a bit easier for you. I hope you are now both comfy at home ?

Good to know Mr D's covid test was negative. I know you thought it would be but nevertheless there can still be that niggle in the back of your mind. I'm happy to know it and that he is feeling much better ?
I hope you enjoyed your walk, and that you have not overdone it!

Thanks dragonfly the bow has a double knot ?. I hope you have a bit of peace of mind now knowing that your course of radiotherapy will soon be going ahead ?

Oh BradfordLass methinks your dose of seasonal flu is a bad one. I hope you don't feel bad about not being able to go to the kawamate, you couldn't possibly have gone. Others who were able to be there will understand that.
Yes it does sound like your friend Karen is in safe hands ?.

Sorry to hear that your hand is still very sore Missedout. I hope you're nothing like me as I take forever to heal, a hangover from childhood anaemia. You sound like you're still a pretty agile lady, if I was to try to do what you did to get out of the bath I think I would still be there ?. Keep that agility going as long as you can ?

What the heck is going on with your GP practice and the local health trust Panache?!! If you are up to it put a complaint in n writing to the GP practice manager. This is bl***y ridiculous!. My WP and me are registered with different practices,. At his at the moment the door is permanently locked and there are set times people are allowed to even press the door buzzer! He has to slide his repeat prescription requests under the door! At my practice the door is unlocked. Yes people have to wait outside until ushered in. Most appointments are by phone, granted, but they do carry them out - even if they are 2 hours late. I'm appalled at the way you and Mr P are being not treated.
On a more positive note for you I'm pleased your arm is better, the robotics ? working ?.

I'm going to have to go back to online grocery shopping I think. I'm starting not to trust myself in-store! Why? First, when I accidentally and mortifyingly, went into Sainsbury's in my slippers Ihad to buy a new pair of brown leather boots. Second, I sorted out the bedroom drawers, threw out ragged pyjamas and had to buy new pyjamas. Third, I needed some new tights and had to buy a soft knit claret coloured dress. Forth, today, we were in the village heading to the Co-op and that meant walking past Seasalt - I had to go in and I had to buy a dark green cord skirt. Oh dear ?

Doodle Thu 15-Oct-20 20:56:58

cherry that’s a good one grin. Glad you’ve still got your Tigger tail with it’s pretty ribbon.
Grammaretto glad you are both home safely. I bet it’s been a long day for you. Hope things went ok.

Grammaretto Thu 15-Oct-20 20:51:05

Ah Cherry you got me there!!!grin
Early night here for us tired oldies. MrG managed to escape and is home.
I had missed the excitement of Nfk's pond repair and her fish lined up watching! smile

I hope MrDoodle is recovering well.
You are such an adventurous lot on here.
Sorry if the new lockdowns are spoiling plans again.
I'm sure I broke rules today but only took considered risks.
Night night gangsters. Sleep well.

CherryCezzy Thu 15-Oct-20 19:44:32

My Tigger tail is intact but I've still got a ? tied around it.
I've been playing cards ? and ...
All the big cats gathered for a game of poker. Why did the tiger lose?
Because one of his opponents kept on lion. Another had a puma-nent poker face. But the real problem was the cheetah ? ?
An oldie but a goodie.

Doodle Thu 15-Oct-20 13:40:00

Missedout how is your poor hand today? I hope you are looking after yourself.
I think we will continue the Lockdown thread as long as people want to post on it. I certainly enjoy the company.
Bradfordlass I too had a giggle at the thought of NFK’s fish looking on. I wonder if they were thinking oooh what’s going on? ?
I am glad to hear your friend is being well looked after.
How about you. How are you feeling today? Sorry you had to miss the memorial service.
Hope you feel better soon.
Panache it is appalling you are not getting these phone calls from your Gp. Getting through to one is hard enough without them not phoning back and now today no appointments. I do feel for you and hope you get some help soon.
It’s a beautiful day here so we will go for a walk but being careful not to overdo it at the moment.
Glad your arm is better. Take care of both of you .?
Grammaretto I am glad you are with your DS and not out on some street corner somewhere. I’m sorry to hear the news is not too good. The walk round the Botanic Gardens in the company of your son must have been good. Glad he’s looking after you. I hope Mr G is ok and things aren’t as bad as your fear. Get home safely.

Grammaretto Thu 15-Oct-20 12:07:50

Am I sitting comfortably? Well yes actually. I'm at DS's house on their comfy settee waiting to hear from MrG who is still at the hospital. It's not going well unfortunately so he may still have to have the contraptions even longer.
Meanwhile DS and I had a walk around the Botanic gardens which is so healing. It's a gorgeous day here.
The DGC are on halfterm but occupied with holiday clubs. DS works from home.

I do hope your treatment goes well or at least is soon finished with Dragonfly
I'm glad MrP can be treated at home.

Missedout I have to get onto my knees to get out of the bath and that's with 2 free hands. Well done you!

Sorry you are so poorly BradfordLass please get better soon. We need your humour on here.

Nortsat when can we see your present?

Panache Thu 15-Oct-20 11:18:00

Another bright glorious morning here in Wales,so weather ways all is well.In fact many of our hardier residents were sitting outside for much of yesterday`s afternoon.
Much to our annoyance as we sat indoors awaiting a call back from our GP........worse still this did not materialise so as you can im agine we were not exactly "happy bunnies"
Worse still to follow, when trying to book in an appointment this morning the second GP was fully booked..............the online booking service has been closed down................so what on earth does one do to see..........or talk to.........a GP????
Even our Mcmillen nurse and again a Hospice nurse failed also.........................pity help us in our little corn er if this continues.
A warning.
Please do not dare get ill in Wales!!

You seem to be very much in need of some TLC our Bradfordlass........sincerely hoping you are right in your own diagnoses although the `flu too can be quite a demon on times.I truly think it is a time to rest and rest some more.
Whilst you too had me sit up,pricking my ears hearing the word....panache ...mentioned.Still nothing truly to get me all excited about!!

Here`s hoping the sea air and change of scenery will uplift your spirits Mr & Mrs Doodle ........it certainly does give you an appetite and usually a good night`s sleep.Hopefully from here on in no more excitement just plenty of good fresh air and beauty enough around you to bathe your eyes upon.

Our Cherry with the pretty be ribboned tail, here`s wishing you some much needed improvement,we cannot allow you to have a drooping tail as you certainly get us smiling!!

I will personally tie the ribbon around you Dragonfly, just keep on going as it seems you are now approaching that finishing line, although yes it has been a long time coming.

I can well imagine Mamissimo is never far behind her man, whatever line of work he next gets up to,what a pair they make!

Missedout we cannot but carry on this thread headed by our great Doodle she is fast becoming our life blood of the day!

Thinking of you Grammaretto together with your man this very day of his appointment and sincerely hoping that a safe covid way has been found for you.
We certainly can well do without all these extra stresses but sadly nowadays it does seem we simply have to find those best solutions.

Good to hear from you again Nfk..You have certainly been busy there outside around your pond with a hole.In gardening it is an area that there is never an end.

Trusting you are admiring that new clock on your mantlepiece Norstat........something that lasts giving such pleasure.
We exchanged a large wall clock on one of our Anniversaries..........thinking it appropriate to give each other "the gift of time"

Duties needed now the District nurse has dutifully called to administer my dearest his Chemo for this month.
It has been an unsettling week or two but we always try to live in hope.
My arm is better so I have no excuses!!

Have yourselves a peaceful day dear friends, and whatever may befall,Stay safe!

BradfordLass73 Wed 14-Oct-20 23:29:46

Nfk I love the idea of a row of fish watching the fun.smile

My friend Karen is being looked after by a Yorkshire lass; obviously in good hands.

I should have gone to a kawemate (memorial) today for someone I've known 30 years but when they came for me I could only stagger to the door and apologise. sad

Missedout Wed 14-Oct-20 23:15:21

Hello all, I've been reading through the recent posts and exclaiming, oh no, poor Mr Doodle and thinking how I would feel if I were Doodle.

Then I read BradfordLass' post. First about the rat hallucination then having flu. I'm sorry BradfordLass, I remember having a really bad dose of flu several years ago. It took me weeks to recover even though I was fit and healthy. I hope you are managing and will get any support you need in a timely fashion.

Mamissimo, I have ancestors/relations who lived in Somerset too, I don't think they lived in caves although I knew the teacher who was related to Cheddar Man. I had a phone conversation with one of my 'ologists' yesterday too. I'm afraid I had birds-nest hair and my fluffy, giraffe pjs on! (Well it takes me ages to dress and my hair needed washing again). You and Panache have set the bar too high for me.

Panache, I don't know how you manage - caring for your DH as well as coping with your own health problems and changing the bedding, laundering and ironing. I hope you have good news soon.

Your birthday present sounds lovely Norstat.

Cherry, thank you for thinking of me. The same goes to all of you asking about my hand. It is still very painful, I think it may take a while to heal. I'm managing alright, I had a soak in the bath today (I managed to turn on to my knees to get out). I have DH to help when I really can't do something. I realise my problems are minor when I think of what many of you are going through.

Doodle, I see we are approaching 1000 posts again. Will we carry on? I quite like the idea of a gangsters' Zoom meeting when Covid is no longer headlines.

Good night all. Please stay as well as you can.

dragonfly46 Wed 14-Oct-20 22:14:45

Tie that ribbon tight cherry!

Doodle Wed 14-Oct-20 21:46:20

cherry you made me smile. The thought of your Tigger tail having a pretty ribbon on it.?.

Doodle Wed 14-Oct-20 21:43:47

Evening all.
cherry hope you are ok and feeling a bit better.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes. DH is feeling much better and the results of his COVID test were negative as we thought they’d probably be. Hallucinations must be a frightening thing. I’m not aware of ever having any. I have some pretty awful dreams but nothing like hallucinations. You have so much to put up with Cherry this not knowing what the day will hold must be stressful.
Nfk you were lucky to find that hole in the pond near the top. Glad you were able to fix it and all the fish had an entertaining afternoon ?
dragonfly that is good news about your treatment and it starting soon. I believe that is what you said your surgeon wanted too so sounds as though you are on the right track.
Mamissimo it is indeed a strange time for MrM to start a new project but don’t put him off now, ?. Is there a lot to be done?
We went for a walk in the sunshine this afternoon by the sea. It was beautiful and relaxing. We were planning an early night but DH has to stay up for a few more hours to take his other antibiotic. I am fighting to keep my eyes open.
Hope you are all keeping an eye on Jeeves while I am away.
Sleep well all ?

CherryCezzy Wed 14-Oct-20 21:36:53

Drat!! I was going to do the dot dot dot thing and everything.

I hope your hand is starting to heal a bit Missedout and you have managed to find a way to wash without getting the dressing wet. When I had my burns my hand was (twice) in dressings for weeks on end and I can't have a bath for risk of drowning. The first time my hand was dressed up like a boxing glove ? so a shower hat wrapped round and held on with an elastic band helped but it was dressed differently the second time round so I used a rubber gloves but again held on with a rubber band. No leaks.

Take care my gangster friends, my Tiggertail is a bit loose but it's held on by a lovely ribbon ?.

Night all, hope you all sleep well ?

CherryCezzy Wed 14-Oct-20 21:24:14

Hi gang, it's been a difficult few days for me and then I read what all the rest of the gang are going through! I'm trying to get my brain working but what some of you are going through yourselves and/or your oved ones I take my hat off to you for still managing to post.

I was happy when I read that you and Mr D were having a break away Doodle, you so deserve a wonderful time. Then I read what happened. You must have been terrified; it was so unexpected. It was obviously worrying to see him shivering and not being able to stop but to then see him losing consciousness -cwtches and more cwtches for you. It must have been incredibly difficult not going with him to the hospital; a thought that unsettles me. It's horrible to contemplate how you must have felt. I am so pleased to know that he's okay now ?. Your sons, what wonderful men you have brought them up to be - their immediate thought and willingness to drop everything and come to you. They are clearly special men Doodle, they remind me of another - my dearest brother. Years ago I was in a situation I won't go into but without any request he got on a flight from Germany to Wales to immediately help me out. Please take care both of you and take up the offer from your son's (one or the other) if you need to ⭐

Panache I hope those antibiotics are helping and I hope Mr P had his phone call?. I don't know what to say about what you have told us all about his current treatment. Is an alternative treatment being arranged? The NHS needs to pull it's finger out at the moment I think. I hate this bl***y virus! Cwtches to you too x

It sounds like Mr G will be seen in a different part of the hospital tomorrow then Grammaretto ?. I think I'd head to the hospital cafe if it's open and come on GN for a chat if I was in your position. I hope his appointment goes well, I'm sure he'll be safe from the scourge virus.

Good news dragonfly ?. Radiotherapy done before Christmas, ker-ching.

Mamissimo you sound a bit more cheerful than I've been reading earlier, I'm admiring your tail ?. I hope Mr M made some progress on his work on the porch modifications considering he started late in the day. By the way I'm envious of your pearls as I've only got one on a necklace my mother left me. I'm pleased to hear your bloods are the best they have been for a good while ?

Glad you are keeping warm and cosy BradfordLass, a seasonal dose of flu is a miserable nuisance. I hope you are spending less time warming the porcelain and more time snuggling up cosily ? Curious hallucination - a rat I mean. I'm used to hallucinations ? as my focal awareness seizures tend to be hallucinations. For years I heard a part of a song each time I had one and I kept telling myself that I must remember what the song was. After the seizure and the ensuing impaired awareness seizures followed by a generalised seizure I never could remember what the song was. Grrh! ?

Nortsat thanks for the cheery flowers ?. I'm glad your birthday present has arrived, brilliant price that too!

I brought you a bunch of flowers to give you when we all went to Nortsat's party Nflk but they got left behind in the hall stand so I've brought you a replacement ?. I didn't want to leave anyone out.

Last but not least

NfkDumpling Wed 14-Oct-20 19:52:11

Oh gosh, I just caught up with all the calamities befalling everyone since Monday. Doodle that must have been so, so horrendously worrying. So much worse when you're not in your own territory. And hospital visits galore all round. Thank God for the NHS! And poor Bradford that fever and hallucinations doesn't sound good.

It was quite a relief to read to the bottom and find that Mr and Mrs Doodle are rested and warm, its all systems fantastically go for dragonfly - and Mr M is fit enough to start on the porch!

And yesterday DH patched the hole in the pond, the lilies and plants are much reduced, repotted and restored to their places, Three barrow loads of silt removed, the pond refilled - and this morning it was still refilled to the same level. The hole wasn't too far down the side. About ten inches. A small gash which must have be caused when he lifted out a rather large plant in the spring and lost control of it. The corner of the mesh planter must have done it.

What was surprising was that we'd expected the fish to vanish into the corner and cower in fear at all the action, but they didn't. They sat line abreast to watch the proceedings, getting in the way and nearly being caught in the buckets!

After all the action we should have slept well last night but Himself was still up and down like a yo-yo and I woke and was up as usual when it was still very dark. Early night tonight.

dragonfly46 Wed 14-Oct-20 18:51:43

So pleased to hear Mr Doodle is much better - it means you will feel better now Doodle.

So sorry to hear you are so unwell BradfordLass. Hope you feel better soon.

Well life took a strange turn today. I got a call this morning asking if I could go into the hospital to meet my oncologist. He apologised for not giving me radiotherapy back in March but is organising it now. I had the scan, tattoos at the same time and start on 2nd November. Tomorrow my surgeon is ringing me and I will have more info than her. Hats off to the NHS!

Mamissimo Wed 14-Oct-20 18:48:01

I bring the happiest of news....Mr M has got his tools out and is beginning the modifications in the porch that I requested two years ago. Quite why he waited till 4 pm to start is a bit of a mystery but bridges have been burned and he'll have to carry on. Yippee!

Doodle Wed 14-Oct-20 13:56:22

Thank you all for your very kind wishes. DH knows all about the gangsters so appreciated your concern and mamissimo how thoughtful of the offer of fast car and local knowledge. You lot are the best.
The caravan is very warm and cosy and we both slept until just after 12 noon ?. Naughty but lovely.
mamissimo to hear this is what you suffer with cellulitis must be quite shocking. Yes I am sure from what I read that antibiotics within the hour is the thing and DH remembers having intravenous antibiotics as the doctor was assessing him.
He is much better today. Hope you are feeling better too.
grammaretto we have sunshine at the moment and it’s quite warm. Our sons are on standby to take us home if we decide to pack up but for the moment we are fine.
One of the worst things about this virus in my opinion, is not being able to be with each other in hospital. I can understand whyMrG is concerned. I hope all goes well with his appointment. A cafe and book or GN would be my option. I hope the appointment goes well.
Nortsat hope you are feeling better. Lovely flowers, very cheering. Your clock sounds lovely and what a good price. It must be fun bidding for things on auction. I have never done that. A photo would be good.?
dragonfly another with hospital appointment. Hope your two consultants have agreed on the right course of action for you and that you feel positive about the treatment agreed.
Panache thank you, yes he is feeling much better today. It was a bit of a shock to put it mildly but many of the gangsters, you included, are going through the same sort of thing all the time.
I am so sorry to read that you and MrP are still suffering. Your arm sounds most painful and poor MrP really seems to be going through it. Hope that you can get the help you need and those phone calls come through for you today.
Bradfordlass you do sound quite poorly. And those frequent trips to admire the porcelain must wear you out. Lovely of your DGD to offer to come over. Are you sure you don’t need some help? Glad you’ve got a nice warm bed. Let’s hope the fever abates and you get some restful sleep.
Missedout I hope your hand is starting to heal and you are managing with washing.
cherry how are you feeling now? I hope that Tigger tail is firmly attached.
nfk Nortsat’s cake was lovely. You are lucky she saved you a piece.
Please take good care of yourselves gangsters. You are all very special. Hope you have a peaceful and restful day ?

BradfordLass73 Wed 14-Oct-20 11:27:56

Poor, poor Mr & Mrs Doodle what a horrible shock and ordeal. Glad you are both safe home and recovering.

Mamissimo I'm convinced you'd look both dignified and impressive even without a pearls. You'll have Jeeves fawning over you again smile

Grammaretto what a lovely image of your little ones squishing clay and turning out little pots. I bet they loved it.

Nfk there are few thing more inconvient than a leaky pond; it can't be left to sort itself out and all the plant moving makes me weak to just think about. How does one plug a leak like that?

Missedout It made my tummy turn over when I read about your hand, nothing to what it must have done to yours sad
I hope it's coming right, what a horrible thing to happen. It sounds so very painful.

Cherry I do hope you are feeling better now, it must be so wearying for you. xxxx

Nortsat How are you feeling at the moment, better I hope.
Yes, I rationalised the rat - I'm not scared of them, which helps and having lived near water for over 20 years, see them around quite a bit - but NOT in my house! (although that did happen, just once, when I lived out in the wop-wops.)

dragonfly best of luck with your onchology appointment; scary at the best of times but with wretched covid lurking everywhere, even worse.

I was listening to a podcast and the word "panache" was used, so I pricked up my ears (I loved Joe Orton's plays!) and learned it means 'reckless heroism' and relates to the plume on the helmet of Henri 4th who urged on his men with, "Ralliez-vous à mon panache blanc!" (Follow my white plume).
So in the case of our dear lady here it would probably be "Ralliez-vous à mon panache sarcelle et violette!" grin

I had expectted to be much better today but I'm not. Like Mamissimo I'm shivering and so cold that I put 2 electric blankets on my bed: an under and a neat little over one which has a timer, so I can fall asleep and it switches off.

My grand-daughter threatened offered to come over but what can she do? I can't eat and I'm so intimately acquainted with porcelain I think it might be easier to sleep in there sad
As I write this, I can feel the fever creeping from the near distance, so I better go back to bed. It's only flu of course and not a patch on what you dear people have to contend with all the time, so absolutely NO need to worry.
Love to you all. flowers

Panache Wed 14-Oct-20 11:27:08

A warm hello to you all,a lovely extra bright day,the sun is shining .......though it would seem about the best thing today,

Whilst so delighted hearing of your caravan break with your Mr D Doodle
I was truly shocked on reading of the several real ordeals you have been through since arriving there, the rain fall was more than enough to contend with, but then hearing of the rest has really been most upsetting.
Just showing how quickly these changes happen and all that then follows.
You dear Doodle must be feeling absolutely beaten to the core...........but alas the one good thing is that your dear man is out again, back there with you..........and hopefully picking up on each new day.
Wishing you both all the very best flowers and perhaps a stiff wine or two!!!!

You too feeling under par Mamissimo but I am sure you will by now be bouncing back again.
To be honest, with all this growing depression all around us it is difficult to have that happy wagging tail at this moment in time.
You always exude hope, and I applaud you ..........perhaps you could reveal your secret?

Whilst it seems both Grammaretto and husband, together with our Dragonfly have Hospital appointments looming, and they are so worrying right now.
Fingers well crossed indeed.
I found Thursday`s visit was very safe.

How is your hand Missedout?

Hopefully there will be a smiling Cherry alongside us soon.

We two are not escaping.
We are both low too, whilst my arm remains swollen and painful, my dearest is truly battling a host of really troubling additions ..........and it is very heartbreaking finding so many barriers to getting to those that might offer help.
Getting into our Surgery (only for a telephone appointment) is as difficult as breaking into Fort Knox.............I feel so utterly helpless.
Our GP`s seem to be working mornings only since the covid restrictions.

Your post is very uplifting and making a very pleasant interlude today Norstat.
Does this mean you are feeling better,or is it merely the result of actually seeing and enjoying your Baacaret crystal clock?
It truly sounds just something I would personally choose.
What a bargain indeed.
What about those blue/white plates you had your eye on?

Hopefully we may get some much awaited phone calls today so that I come here with a big smile upon my face.
Sending loving thoughts and blessings to each one of you,may each day bring new hope..............something we all truly need.
Stay safe.

Grammaretto Wed 14-Oct-20 11:01:17

Hello everyone,
Another wet day here.
I managed to cut half the grass before the rain came on so the machine dear little battery mower is blocking the back door while it waits for dry grass. It could be there some time.

DH is getting anxious about the hospital tomorrow. It is so out of character too. I'm normally the one who starts fretting. He is wondering what I will do after dropping him off - as I can't go in.
There 's a Waitrose nearby where I could spend a bit of time and money.
The Botanic gardens is a 15 minute walk away and who knows there may be a cafe open at the hospital.
I have no knitting . I gave it to my knitting guru to finish as I keep making mistakes. It's mindless knitting I need. I have a book to read or I can always come on here and catch up with you all.
How is MrDoodle today I wonder?

dragonfly46 Wed 14-Oct-20 10:21:46

Gosh my friends what a lot has been going on.

So sorry to hear about your 'holiday' Doodle. What a fright you had and it is always somehow worse when you are away from home. I am pleased that your DH is now home.

A&E is never fun Panache but hopefully they managed to sort you out with the antibiotics. Sad news about your DH.

I too have an appointment in oncology on Monday Grammaretto so hoping it is quiet. The cases are rising here rapidly and have always been high. Leicester seems to continue to be a hotspot.

We missed you at the party NFK but will hopefully see you at the next one.

I hope your friend finds the solace she needs BradfordLass, my mum had such episodes. Fortunately since she has had dementia she has become much more contented.

Missedout sad you cannot see your relatives. I haven't seen my GC since January and it doesn't look as if I will be seeing them any time soon.

Finally I hope Cherry gets her Tigger tail back.

I am sending love to you all hoping I haven't missed anybody out.

Mamissimo Wed 14-Oct-20 08:46:27

Doodle I am sorry our posts crossed last night - you certainly had an awful start to your break! Poor Mr D had a cellulitis attack just like my very frequent ones. They always start with the cold and then within half an hour the desperate tiredness. My GP lets me have a spare course of antibiotics to keep for this and I take one before falling into bed and DH wakes me every six hours to take another one. I often sleep for up to 20 hours but wake feeling better and with the temperature gone. The trick seems to be to rest the body and get the robotics going. Mr M is now quite blasé and when I start the shivering and teeth chattering he starts filling the hot water bottle and getting the drugs.

The weather is going to be better now so hopefully Mr D will feel a little brighter but I'm sure you will feel drained! Sending big ? - and if you need help or a hug I'm on the south coast and have a big fast ? and I know all the local hospitals ?

Nortsat Wed 14-Oct-20 07:34:06

Oh Doodle love, what an episode for you both. Thank goodness you were on the ball and got medical assistance quickly. So pleased he’s back with you and the antibiotics are working. You are a gentle soul with a core of steel.
Hope you both had a decent night.
Panache I hope you are more comfortable now and the antibiotics have kicked in. So sorry to hear that your dear one is feeling low, you both have a great deal to contend with. I wish you both a pleasant day and hope you are able to rest and relax.
Grammaretto, you created a lovely image of your littlies making pottery. They will remember these happy times all of their lives ...How sensitive of them to be gentle with grandpa. Hope Mr G’s appetite is a little improved.
Missedout, your party behaviour was beyond reproach. What is happening about your family visit to the North? I hope your hand is more comfortable today.
Bradfordlass I kept thinking about you yesterday and the hallucinations related to your AMD. Are you able to rationalise the hallucination and persuade yourself it’s not real? I can’t imagine having to cope with that. I hope all is well today.
Mamissimo, so pleased to learn you had positive news from your consultant. I am certain you always give a good impression but ‘tidied up and in pearls’ ... knockout... Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling a bit low, I hope a good nights sleep helped.
Nfkdumpling thank you for your good wishes. Let’s meet in Jeeves’ pantry, I saved you a piece of birthday cake ...
Good morning Maybe, hope you have a better day today.

Baccarat crystal clock it arrived from Hanson’s Auctions in time to be wrapped up for my birthday. It’s a dark blue crystal, modern design and I am delighted with it.
They sell Baccarat in Harrods, so just because I am shallow like that, I looked to see whether they had anything similar. They have the same one in clear rather than blue crystal for £320! We paid £50 (inc the on costs) at the auction. (Photo to follow).

I hope everyone has an easy and comfortable day and I am sending you all virtual flowers, (These are the surprise flowers my friend sent me, on 1st October, they’re still going strong ... like the lockdown gangsters.)

Grammaretto Tue 13-Oct-20 22:59:23

Dear Doodle that sounds terrifying for both of you!
I am so glad MrD recovered enough to be let out but should you really be in a caravan?
I suppose it's a lot milder where you are. I couldn't imagine anything worse but it is cold and very wet here so we are glad to be indoors.

I hope you both get some rest tonight. How lovely that your sons were both so supportive.
