Sorry, I must be a terrible person but this news started my day with a smile. ???

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 12:14:37

No thank you qq I’ll pass on the lies. As for nasty comments - well I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve been very restrained ???

You've all made very nasty comments in the main so shouldn't expect any sympathy if you or anyone of your family or friends get covid too. Perhaps you'd like to read about all the things the Trump administration has achieved in the last 4 years.

There seems to be more ‘facts’ coming out. His aide Hope Hicks was apparently isolated on Air Force One coming back from a rally in Minnesota with them on Wed evening as she was unwell. Her diagnosis was confirmed on Thursday. Trump continued with his schedule on Thursday and flew back to the WH Thursday evening. So he was as ever it appears quite happy to potentially spread the virus whilst waiting for his result. Such a nice man and SO deserving of our thoughts and prayers. Bless him.

It seems strange that both Trump and his wife have tested positive at exactly the same time: I would have thought that, even within the same household there would be a slight time lag. Didn't his daughter and her husband refuse to wear masks when asked to by any official at some sort of rally the other day?

I read that Trump has been responsible fir more misinformation about the virus than anyone else in America and therefore is surely responsible for many people contracting it due to listening to him. I just hope he didn’t pass it on to Biden at the debate but fear the worst given the way he was shouting at close proximity during the debate. Does it mean a Biden will have to self quarantine fir 14 days and will not be able to continue travelling round the country engaging with people?

That’s what I was wondering. Hope Biden doesn’t get it.

Callistemon applies to anyone who cannot debate without resorting to personal comments and yes I know Trump is guilty of this. However, it doesn’t mean everyone else needs to follow his example. This just shows that some people who criticise him personally are as guilty as he is.... ‘people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones’ and all that!!!

However, if you cannot debate as a mature adult, without making personal comments, which in my view is bullying, then why bother?

Are you talking about Trump there, Gwyneth?

EllanVannin Fri 02-Oct-20 11:02:42

We'll see suziewoozie, we'll see !

Gwyneth Fri 02-Oct-20 11:00:44

Two questions: Would you be happy for your grandchildren to read some of the more vitriolic posts that have been written? I’m guessing that you would not be happy if someone in your family was subjected to this kind of keyboard bullying.
Secondly would the posters make these personal comments if Trump and Boris were non-white?
Criticising someone’s political policies is one thing and for the record I believe Trump’s policies and political stance are unacceptable. However, if you cannot debate as a mature adult, without making personal comments, which in my view is bullying, then why bother?

Callistemon Fri 02-Oct-20 11:00:15

Surely his actions for the American people are what matter most.
Absolutely, Craftygranny

But - doesthat mean all the American people or just the chosen ones?

EllanVannin Fri 02-Oct-20 11:00:05

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but swear that this virus escaped from a laboratory.

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 10:58:47

That’s ridiculous EV of course you can have contact - it’s how you define that. And no I haven’t broken any rules either or put others at risk.

EllanVannin Fri 02-Oct-20 10:58:25

It's simple enough---if you're not out and about you won't get it will you ?

EllanVannin Fri 02-Oct-20 10:56:14

Craftyone, it's not a case of people being inhuman in their remarks. This is a deadly virus and if people don't adhere to rules and regulations etc then who's to blame ?

I bet you've been out and about ?? I bet others have too. Let's not be two-faced about this. A pandemic is something where you literally have to have no contact with anyone at all.

henetha Fri 02-Oct-20 10:54:17

I don't like Trump at all, nor his politics, but I don't wish him any ill. Some opinions on here seem very harsh.

CraftyGranny Fri 02-Oct-20 10:47:12

IMO - Trump is a very crass man, and easy to dislike. However, he has been getting things done over there, which can't be denied.
Surely his actions for the American people are what matter most.
I am glad I don't live in America though, but do wish him a speedy recovery nontheless.
Have any of you seen the miniseries "The Comey Plan"? I had to chuckle at the man playing Trump, he had him off to a tee grin

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 10:46:12

mum well it’s a bit late now isn’t it? Tens and tens and tens of thousand deaths too late. His ‘poor wife’ knows exactly what she’s up to- she fully supported for example his ‘Birther’ movement. She’s not a child

mumofmadboys Fri 02-Oct-20 10:43:03

Perhaps Trump will start taking coronavirus in the USA seriously from now on.It is hugely difficult watching such an idiot lead America. His poor wife having to live with him.

trisher Fri 02-Oct-20 10:40:53

After the remarks he made when Hilary had pneumonia I have no sympathy whatsoever.

I never questioned whether Boris was ill but I would definitely not be surprised if MawB were correct.

Anniezee Fri 02-Oct-20 10:37:45

Proves that there is a God - and that He isn't Trump!

suziewoozie Fri 02-Oct-20 10:36:57

As Melania once famously wore ‘I really don’t care. Do U?’

Craicon Fri 02-Oct-20 10:33:29

Not convinced it’s true.
Seems like a handy way to get out of attending any more disastrous Presidential debates. He will have seen how catching Covid and being in hospital helped Johnson get the sympathy vote.
I also think Bolsonarno used it as a convenient excuse to avoid too much international scrutiny in Brazil.

Hope Melania’s ok though.

Callistemon Fri 02-Oct-20 10:32:50

Lucca

When he gets better wait for “the doctors said I was the best they’d ever seen at beating the virus, nobody knows more about the virus than me, they said I was a tremendous patient”.

I didn't laugh when I heard he had the virus as I wouldn't wish it on anyone (well, that's not strictly true) but that made me laugh!
