Unwanted views on the pandemic

I popped down to our local shop today wearing a mask. I had just reached my car with my shopping bag when a lady walked towards me with a little dog.

I stepped back to let her and the dog past when she said loudly "There is no pandemic, it's all a hoax".

I appreciate everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I was simply being polite and letting her pass, so why lecture me on covid?

It was unnecessary and annoyed me!

I’m in hospital being treated for covid . I’ve been very poorly . It is real

Sorry to hear that. Dr Chris Steele on This Morning recommended CoEnzyme Q10 for anyone suffering from COVID long term. Also (I think) Vit E (I need to double check).

All best wishes to you for a speedy recovery, Thisismyname1953. thanks

Regarding wearing masks if you have any sort of respiratory problem. I have purchased (yes via Amazon - so am being tracked already), some little plastic thingies - these go over my my mouth and nose, under any mask and hold the material away from my nose and mouth, making it very much easier for me to breath. They cost little more than pennies to purchase, and just wash in soap and water.
I think that many of those who claim exemptions from wearing masks should not be doing so.

Australia has had several really severe lockdowns and are now leading a relatively normal life. What does Ivor Cummings have to say about that?

Ivor Cummins is a breath of fresh air not like that demented twerp of a Health Minister. I wouldn't let him look after my tadpole if it were sick... The fool had the audacity to suggest that Dr Mike Yeadon doesn't quite understand what the 'R' number is about!!
Ivor C has analysed years of health statistic from not only in the UK but EU and America etc etc and has shown convincedly that the Covid 19 virus has run its course in this country and that many many death are the seasonal autumn norms. Sadly lockdowns don't prevent the spread of these types of virus and ARE on the other hand producing unnecessary 'lockdown death'. Sadly the 'health' secretary can't quite understand or is playing a naaaaasty game of ReSet.

"momentarily forgot about the pandemic??" actually at tis time of the year there are many chest infections going around. This year there are less than last two years....

Where's your evidence for that?

Seefah, a close friend, and a nurse, sent this to me and said she's tempted to hand it out. Things aren't looking so great here in the US...

They seem to have pulled the thread about social distancing. It was getting so nasty. When I said I was scared to leave the house because people were ignoring social distancing someone accused me of being a hypocrite and wouldn’t explain why! The page does serve a purpose, community wise but some of it is horrible.

Village Facebooks are like the wild west in my experience Maybee.

Every village has an idiot - or two!

I’ve visited my doctors twice for INR checks that I couldn’t get out of and both times members of staff came within touching distance without wearing masks. I give up.

As I walked along a pavement I stepped aside as a young 'gentleman' came the other way. I ain't got no lergy, he said. I just replied with, it's not the lergy I'm worried about!
I always used to say to my mum, at least 60% of people are daft. gringrin

I am pleased to say that now most people walking around our area are wearing masks.

Strange how many people are worried about being tracked if they have a life saving vaccine but are quite happy to sign up to and use the Big Brother of our times, Amazon.

Kate1949 Mon 23-Nov-20 18:11:10

There not Tghere

Kate1949 Mon 23-Nov-20 18:10:30

A friend phoned last week and I asked her what she thought of the news of the vaccine. She said 'Tgere is no vaccine. It's a smokescreen to take our minds off Brexit. You need to stock up on food. People will starve'. I spoke to her this week. She said 'Don't have either of those two vaccines. They will alter your DNA. Wait for a safer one'. confused

Bill Gates is welcome to track me, he’ll get very bored very quickly.

(If the earth were flat cats would have pushed everything off the edge by now).

MayBee70 you are right, here we are so behind every other country, because they have always thought they were doing best, but now regretting it, its never going away unless they make the restriction into law, otherwise nobody takes notice of them, we oldies do but there are far more younger people than ourselves.Watch this space!

What does concern me about Sweden is that my family have been taking VitD for many months because we believe that it will protect us (or at least mean that if we do catch the virus we will be less ill) but in Sweden VitD is added to foodstuffs therefore the population shouldn’t be deficient. But it doesn’t seem to be helping. Your grandson is to be commended!

Liz46 Mon 23-Nov-20 15:37:22

To anyone who thinks the virus is not serious - my daughter is trying to recover from it and my granddaughter has it. We think my grandson brought it home from school but he just had minor symptoms.

My daughter belongs to a running club and regularly runs 5k. She had trouble just getting off the sofa when she had it.

One of our neighbours runs marathons. He caught it and lost one and a half stone somehow. He didn't look as though he had that much to lose! We saw him struggling to walk to the end of the street as he tried to recover.

Why are some people exempt from wearing a mask? It's not as if masks prevent or impede breathing in any way; they're simply slightly inconvenient, surely?

I have bronchiectasis and asthma and I have great difficulty in wearing a mask. I am exempt from wearing a mask but do not go to the shops. We have deliveries and occasionally my husband will go into a shop.

I am very proud of one of my Grandsons he has bought face masks and starting to wear them, to protect others here it isnt mandatory to wear masks here, he is nineteen and a responsible teenager I wish more were.
