Elegran

J52 You can't be a carrier as you have not had the virus injected into you, just a small bit of its RNA, enough for your immune system to recognise it and attack it if and when it invades in the future - its RNA, not its DNA.

Maybe so, but you could still catch it and have a mild dose that you could pass on. That is what JVD (or Chris Whitty - can't remember now) said in response to a question in the briefing. It's another unknown.

Too many uncertainties, I’m pro the vaccine, but there are many questions.
The SA variant of the virus has heat to be investigated and there’s no certainty that after being vaccinated, you would not be a carrier.
Although, apparently the vaccine can be quickly redesigned to accommodate the virus mutations.
Once again, I feel we’re in for a long haul.

MissA yep we are fifth in the UK

They just can’t say for certain. They’re scientists so can’t say anything without the relevant data which they don’t have yet. I’m sure that the vaccine will prevent transmission and I’m the worlds worst pessimist.

I do wish Boris wouldn’t give prospective ‘dates’ for when things may be better.

April 5th or thereabouts?

I wish he would just say, ‘We really don’t know, the more you follow the guidelines, the sooner it will be’.

Yes, grannygravy.
We're one of the worst areas, from what I can tell.
We must focus on the vaccine.

I just really hope that people now realise how very serious the situation is right now.

Here in London, nobody should be socialising or making any unnecessary trips!

The scariest message was that they just don't know and won't know for a few months.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 30-Dec-20 18:03:29

JVT looked extremely serious and worried.

The schools in our Borough and surrounding areas are not reopening MissA, that will be more teenagers hanging around parks etc.

MissAdventure Wed 30-Dec-20 18:03:23

Oh! My phone changed my um to a hum. grin

SuzannahM Wed 30-Dec-20 17:46:36

SuzannahM Wed 30-Dec-20 17:46:07

Humming MissA or Umming ???? wink grin

Not watching but just had a vision of very load humming like a load of angry bumble bees.

MissAdventure Wed 30-Dec-20 17:35:27

Boris is blustering more than ever.

It's uncomfortable to watch.
They're all humming and erring!
